I think you should listen to your father. So many women marry Islamic men and end up regretting it because the men take off with the kids to their country of origin if there is trouble with the marriage and there's not a thing the women can do about it. The difference in your religions is so vast that no good can come from it. Listen to your father this one time...I am certain you can find someone else.

Your parents my have a valid reason based on more than just religion. As you are aware, Islam can have very strict codes depending on whether it is sunni or shi'ite. I do not know the difference but before you tie the knot, I suggest you do some research on this religion. Islam is a way of life and can often clash with the western cultural values with dia consequences for the woman. Whatever you do, do not let anyone talk you into moving to Saudi Arabia. Be very careful and wise! I could suggest that you watch a movie with Sally Field in it. I forgot its name but its about a woman in your circumstances who gets into big trouble. Im not saying this will happen in your case but it could. good luck.

This is a major decision of your life. So, probably you are looking for answers which support your idea.
But think the persons answering your question does not know you nor they understand your real situation. Probably they shall answer your question emotionally.
Why don't you ask this question to your parents and friends who understands you and your situation better.
