Not all atheists are stupid. I do not consider myself stupid, and I am indeed an atheist. So are almost all Buddhists, who I admire greatly for their religion's peaceful nature and wisdom. Atheism is also to official belief of several nations such as the People's Republic of China, who seem to have the smarts to develop their country at an astounding rate, perhaps never seen before on such a wide scale in history (at least through peaceful means, Russia under Stalin being one not-so-peaceful example). Personally, I try not to judge others based on their religion, although I do have certain judgements on the religions themsleves. I hope you will re-consider your ideas about atheists (although you are welcome to sustain your views on Atheism, of course, which I'm sure you will).

P.S. Sorry, I know I didn't actually answer your question. I'm afraid I could not have.

i mean check this out. you have this story, written back in the time when people believed in ALL KINDS of totally ridiculous stuff, written clear back when all people had to do was come up with stories of folklore and mythology. millions and millions of people believe it just because it tells them to, blindly, having their brains washed, no longer being able to think for themselves.

the mind is very powerful. you can convince yourself that an orange is alive by wanting to believe in it so much. i mean, just think about how much you used to believe in santa or the easter bunny. you believed in it with all your heart didn't you? you had no doubts. then, ooooooh -- no santa or easter bunny.

except this story is much worse. the "holy text" condones mass genocide, raping of women, etc. to the pleasure of this "god".

doesn't it seem just a bit too convenient that say, when a loved one dies, you instantly just hope you'll get to see them again? that there's this self contained system that keeps you "morally in check", heaven and hell?

people have believed strongly, with all their hearts in something since the very beginning. tribes believe that there are gods in the stars. think of the salem witch hunt. think of when everyone though the earth was flat.

people are just stupid, thats all there is to it.

I wouldn't say they are stupid people just believe in different things. That is what makes up differnt religions. Some people just don't believe things until they see it.

They are not stupid, they just need more time to make their minds clear. They only believe what they see, but if I were to ask them one question , they wouldn't be able to answer. We can't see "air" right, how come these Atheists believe air exist.
The answer is simple because the door to their heart is tightly closed. They can't see the truth through their hearts. If not blind Stevie Wonder won't convert himself.

Athiests aren't stupid, just misguided. The cool thing about religion and lack there of is that when the time comes it will be God doing the judging.

Atheists aren't stupid. There are some very intelligent atheists. They are just deceived. They are "wise in their own eyes", but their wisdom is false. They may have a lot of knowledge, but it has actually lead them away from the Truth. They are "lost" and "blind" but not "stupid."
