Well, I can't.
I started off with this guy who I vowed I would never introduce to my friends UNLESS he bought new shoes and smaller glasses.
He's a total geek.
Well, it's been 3+ years, he STILL has those shoes and never wears the newer, smaller glasses I forced him to buy.
Oh, and he'll be here later to watch the Steeler game and enjoy the nice dinner I am making. Love is blind.

Absolutely. We are not animals. Human beings have choice. Usually people who say they "fell" in love usually DOVE into it -head first- instead. The made sure that "something" would happen by making themselves available at the right time and in the right places. Nothing just happens. Nothing.
Love is an act, not an emotion. Affection is an emotion that is sometimes birth out of love, but not always. Lust is a strong emotional desire that is also mistaken for love. There is no love in lust. Lust is seeking to fulfill one's own desires with little regard to what is best for the other person.

I think you can choose to open yourself or close yourself to the possibility of love with someone, but I don't think you can actually make a choice to fall in love or not. It's a pity. There have been occasions that I wish I could have returned the love of another in earnest, and pretending to do so would have been dishonest.

No -
you could deny yourself the pleasure of acting on your love.... but why do that? Your love will still be there.... probably even more-so if you try to deny it....
It might seem like a choice to alot of people because they have no problems with the people they are in love with....
but what if you are gay.... or in love with someone who is fat.... then you can see how society has this "choice" thing all wrong....

NO.
Love finds you and not the other way around...of course it has to be right for you in order for you to consider it love in the first place.
that is why i dont believe in the restrictions that religions place on people when it comes to marriage and such.
hope that helps.

of course you can. its your mind that falls in love, not you. you can be aloof from your mind and watch your self do it. you see that your mind is flalinf for someone random and then you can analyse the fact that your mind is, in every case, deluding you about how wonderful the person is.
