Well.. When I was a child we celebrated.. I lived in the city and Man on mkan did we clean up on candy.. we had to bring a wagon to haul our bags as we could not carry it all! I am 41 now
We have a 12 year old who has never been trick or treating and will never go.

We do not celebrate Halloween or pass out candy. We are not Jehovah Witnesses or refrain from it for an other religious reasons..
I guess for one its just not what it was when I was a kid.. not as safe.. no night trick or trreating when it was soooooo spooky like we did when I was a kid...
And well frankly
you teach your kids not to talk to or take candy from strangers... but then 1 night a year its ok?????
Tough lesson for really young kids

I guess our child gets more than enough candy and certainly does not need to beg it off others... I really hate to see senior citizens living on low incomes spending money to pass out candy to kids that they never see in a normal day..

We have gone to fall festivals, and our daughter had gotten costumes to play with and dress up in.. fopr dress up when she was younger but we just dont see the need to celebrate it really.

She has in the past however taken goodie bags to a few seniors living near by or -in a couple of cases taken bags of candy for them to pass out saying they are extras we would not use.. they were seniors on a tight budget who did not have money for candy and we did not want bratty teens egging thier house because they had no candy.

SHe has also used teh excue of Halloween to rake some lawns for seniors as well saying well its my halloween gift to you... other wise they feel its charity and say no.. since she does it for free

SO no we dont do Halloween really but I guess do some things
that are unhalloween.

I also think Kids over maybe age 12 have no business out trick ot trteating.... too old... its for little kids if you are goig to do it...

OK well thats my say!

a lot of jehovah's witness believers don't celebrate halloween. Funny story; they used to come to our house all the time. I put halloween decorations out 2 years ago when my daughter was born. They saw those decorations, stayed nd talked to me for maybe 2 minutes and never came back...lol

The majority of Australians. I'm not saying all of them. Just most. Trick or treating doesn't really happen. Few dress up. It just isn't too big here. Mine went trick or treating last year. Most people are un prepared for it or have no idea what to do. It was there first and last year of doing it. They only wanted to because they had seen it on t.v. This year is is the same night as Scouts and they are dressing up there. 99% of their friends will treat it the same as every other night. Even though it originated from Scotland or Ireland it is really considered an American thing and most people don't want it to get like that here

Most religious nuts aka religious fanatics don't celebrate it, just like they don't let their kids get a visit from Santa at Christmas.
I think it's mean to the child if the child wants to celebrate and the parent makes them miss out.
And for all of those Christians who say it's a "Pagan" holiday, the Christmas tree you celebrate under is also a pagan symbol.
Learn your facts, people!

I don't because my parents wouldn't allow me to when I was a child. The holiday is centered around pagen ideals and my parents didn't believe in celebrating such things. I don't really care one way or the other because it's kinda like Santa, you usually grow out of it anyway.
