Probably Egypt. There was an established, legitimate Jewish temple that was set up their after the destruction of the temple in Israel. It would make sense that he would have gone their to study religion.

You've probably read that at 12 he was in the temple with the other priests and older men discussing God and other religious things. (12 is the age when a Jewish child is considered an adult in Jewish religious matters) Remember that his parents went back to get him when he was in the temple after they discoverered he was missing. The bible says he went with them. So, I always believed he stayed with them until He started his ministry here on earth (at age 30)I also believe he helped his (earthly) father with the carpenter business that he had. The bible clearly says that Joseph was a carpenter and it makes sense that Jesus helped him when he got old enough. After the age of 30 is when he started travelling around spreading the 'good news' and healing.

Read the book, "Jesus lived in India" by Holger Kersten. Talks about Jesus travel to India and as far east as Tibet. It states that Jesus also visited some of the buddhist monasteries and spiritual places in Kashmir, India. He extensively studied and understand spirituality and realized his latent divinity later on.

I just heard that same question raised on a TV show just recently, They said that historians of the time would have held no importance to this time period in Jesus's life. Today we may want to know everything of a person's life but then they didn't even think about it.Today we record everything that happens in our day but then a volcano or earthquake would have meant nothing, just another day for them.

That answer, if any, would be found in the Bible. However, after the age of 12 years old, when he was preaching in the Temple, there is no mention of Him again until the age of 30. If Jehovah wanted us to know it, He would have included it in the Bible. Maybe, in the new world, we might find out.

Some believe that he traveled and learned about other religious. Others believe that he just waited until the time was right to come back. It might have been like the movie "Superman Returns." We really don't know. Oh, sorry.

The Scriptures are silent on that matter, but it is assumed he assisted his parents in their carpentry business, and was educated in the Jewish community. He also received a lot of instruction from God and grew in wisdom, intelligence, and power, until he was ready to fulfill his mission.
