bring your dog to the veterinarian immediately. diarrhea is the cause for hook worms. your dog got it from eating dirty stuffs or eating its poopoo. if you take it longer your dog would be dehidrated and it will soon to die.

dont forget to deworm your dog every month to minimize your problem.

good luck.

When my 14 year old Jack Russell got diahrea from taking antibiotics. I used Kayopectate and gave her some fiber powder on her food. you should hold food for 24hr. Then start with bland rice and chicken broth. They seem to like the kayopecktate. Use a syringe with out the needle and put it in the corner of the mouth. They will just lap it as you push the plunger. I did 5cc twice a day. That would be different with different dogs. Ask the vet.

you can feed it cooked rice and put some chicken broth in it.

pepto bismol works well also.

If it last any longer than 24 hr period then take it to the vet. try to keep it hydrated. you can tell if the dog is getting dehydrated by pulling up the skin on it's back if it goes back down really really slow then the dog is dehydrated. If it goes down fast then the dog is o.k. in that area.

Well to answer this question we need to have a lot more info. So please add to your question. What is the age of your dog? How long has it had diarrhea? Does the dog also vomit? Is there blood in the diarrhea or vomit? Is the dog still playfull? Or does it want to sleep all day? Has it had all it's vaccinations? And is your dog still eating a normal amount of food???

Change it's food and don't give it different types of food. they need a steady diet of one kind. Also, my dog gets it if he eats the cat food and table scraps.

Feed him/her cooked hamburger and white rice.....unseasoned. That has worked for our Pomeranian. Halfpint mentioned rice w/ chicken broth. I've been told that chicken and rice works for cats.
