Okay...I did not see a doctor until I was 26 weeks Pregnant (not b/c i didn't know i was pregnant...i didn't have insurance, but now i do). I saw an obgyn and had the first session with him and he did the whole exam and everything and i went back the next week for the ultrasound...its a boy!! (p.s. this is my 2nd child...thats why i'm not too freaked out by not going to the Dr) Anyways I went back 2 weeks ago for a routine exam and was completely pushed aside and treated badly (see one of my previous questions "was it wrong to leave my dr's app.) anyways i decided to find a different Dr. and now NO ONE will take me b/c i am so far along...what should i do...i seriously would rather wait until the baby is due and i'm having contractions to go back to a Dr or hospital...but i know that there is a possiablity that there might be something wrong with me or the baby. going back to the doctor i saw b4 is not an option...what actions should i take now?

I hope you don't take this as snarky but if they'll take you at the previous dr's you just need to tough it out. Insensitive/Rude care is better than none. I HATED my midwife with a passion but I stuck her out because I couldn't switch (would take too long to get a new one approved etc). She made me feel as if I were stupid, annoying, and a horrible mother even though I hadn't give birth yet. However she monitored my baby well and she kept everything on it's course. I just lucked out that she wasn't available the night my daughter was born and I got a wonderful midwife.

You need to see a doctor!! Why did they treat you so badly?? Did you say something to the doctor about the way you were treated?? If not, then you should because that is NOT the way to treat patients!! You said that no one would take you since you are so far along, so have you tried calling the hospital where you will be delivering? If not, then call them, maybe they could help you come up with a solution!! There are free clinics. I know you have insurance, but I'm just trying to think of several places to try or at least call. Good luck and God bless you and your family with a healthy new baby boy!!!

I read that 52% of doctors recommend a flu shot during pregnancy. That wasn't enough of a consensus for me. First, there is mercury in it. I believe it's a preservative. We know mercury is terrible during pregnancy and we avoid most seafood for that problem - so why would we inject it?? There are some mercury free shots available and if you must get the flu shot now, I recommend that one strongly if you can find it. Secondly, you may or may not get the flu. If you get the shot you are guaranteeing that your body will have to fight it off. You're forcing your immune system to react. That's how it works - you get some of the flu cells but they're dead. There are just enough to make your body react to it so you build immunity to those strains of the flu. But again, it's possible you could stay really healthy and avoid the flu altogether. With the shot, you don't have the possibility of avoiding it. And lastly, make sure you do NOT get the nasal spray. That vaccine is made with LIVE flu cells and is not safe during pregnancy. I hope you stay healthy and feeling good either way!

It'd make sense if you seen a doctor or if one won't see you then go to the hospital ASAP if you think there's something wrong with your baby. If there is, then it could damage more than the baby, it could damage you too. I'm sure hospitals will take you regardless of insurance or not.

Can you call the BBB (Better Business Bureau) or something like that to report the way these doctors' offices treated you? I would assume it applies to doctors along with every other kind of businesses.

Maybe Planned Parenthood could help you find someone? I would call your insurance company to complain and maybe they can help you find someone.

Congrats on your baby boy!

Alot of Drs are part of groups of others that rely on each other to cover "on call" duties. See if your Dr is a part of one of those groups and go to one of his collegues and explain the situation. If not, try to find a midwife that will take you on or contact your insurance company and explain the situation. Dont' take too long to do it though!

I would wait it out if you can't find ANYONE to check you out. Then when you are in labor and "ready" to go, go to the hospital. Surely they can't turn you away. In the mean time I would do lots of praying for you and your baby boy to be healthy and have no complications. Visualizing also works well:) Good luck to you:)

P.S. Take those vitamins... especially iron for your blood, cause you know you loose lots of it....
and omegas or flax oil..
do 200 kegals a day

Contact your insurance company and ask for a referral to a member doctor if they have them. Or visit the hospital and ask them. It's doubtful no one will take you...

You need to do whatever it takes to be able to see a doctor regularly - you have to see someone every week at this stage! Smarten up and do what is best for your baby.
