Helicopter pilots are always military officers.

The majority of the helicopter pilots in the Army are Warrant Officers, though there are a few regular or line officers.

In the Air Force there are a few warrant officers that fly helicopters, but the majority of the flyers are line officers that fly the jets.

They have both warrants and line officers in the Marine Corp that fly helicopters. The majority of the flyers in the Navy are line officers and but warrants do fly their helicopters

I hope this has been of some help to you, good luck.

In the Army most pilots are Warrants. Officers also fly but only as platoon leaders and commanders after that they are on staff like other Army officers. Warrants fly almost their whole carer.

If I would have done anything different I may have gone Warrant instead of officer and become a pilot.

If you've had corrective eye surgery, you can't enlist in the military. Here's why: it's a relatively new procedure and they don't know what the long term complications may or may not be. I know someone who tried it. If you're in the Army, they'll give you corrective eye surgery. It's one of those catch 22s. In order to fly into combat (and possibly cargo, not sure on that one) you have to have a minimum of 20/20 uncorrected vision. That means no corrective eye surgery. This is why: when flying in combat, you are subject to a lot ore G-forces than normal. They don't know how eyes corrected through surgery will react to that pressure.

in the army, they are warrants, AF doesnt have warrants, only officers fly in the AF. Not sure about navy/marines. Probably officers, that is my final answer.

Varies. On the responsibility they hold. But most ordinary chopper pilots in 'Nam were CW-2's. I don't know if that is still true.
