When hundreds of thousands die because of war? Are Americans unaware of people who die in other countries? There is slaughter in Africa, in the Middle East, but not a single tear shed for those innocent. Why are American lives more important?

But why are you more okay about other people dying?

It's not about lives ( most murdered americans are killed by other americans and nobody cares about that). It's about the public humiliation of the strongest military power the world has ever seen.

The attacks of September 11th are significant to Americans because WE were attacked. The United States is similar to a big family. We may not all be the same and we may not always agree with one another, but we care about each other. How would you feel if your country was attacked by foreign invaders that killed over 3000 people? Many of us agree that by taking the fight to the enemy we will prevent (or reduce the probability) of future attacks against our civilian population. It is a matter of self preservation. We will take the steps we feel necessary to ensure our citizens are safe from foreign invaders.
Perhaps by flipping the question I can better help you understand why it appears we care more about our fellow citizens than we do about others. Why do you care so much about those dying in the middle east and in Africa? Why do you care about people dying in your country? Why do you NOT care about people dying on September 11th?

Americans "make a fuss" over 911 because it happened to US on OUR LAND. The target was indiscriminate and nearly three thousand people died. If I lived in Rwanda when the Rwandan genocide that occurred some time back was going on, that would be foremost on my mind. I live in America and so for ME it is a BIG DEAL.
America gets a bad rap , imo, from immature people who think that the problems of the world are all America's fault. They forget how much America does to help other countries in need. When I say AMERICA, I mean its' people. AMERICANS.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it was nearly 3,000 innocent civilians who were just going about there daily lives one minute, and slaughtered like catlle the next, with no warning.... the sudden attack seemed so unprovoked to most Americans (which it certainly wasn't) that it had a great shock value... it meant we weren't safe anymore. Not that we ever really were. It shattered our illusions, well for some of us anyway.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? WHY DO AMERICANS MAKE SUCH A FUSS OVER 9/11? WHAT, YOU WANT US JUST TO SIT HERE, AND TAKE THAT BS? DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE KILLED THAT DAY? Wow, you sure have some nerve asking a stupid questions like that. I wish you asked someone who was involved in 9/11, and see what they have to say about it. It wouldn't be pretty.

yeah, Good Question, and i m with you......it was a drop in the ocean of people wht americans has killed in wars on others country's land.....unprovoked also.....but americans made the useless reason and attacked them...See the afghanistan...that was unprovoked...USA has done 9/11 itself and blamed that Alqaeda has done it?...before 9/11 there was not a clue of this osama bin laden...nobody knows when it was the first time when he attached.......and above all he first deny and accepted it Y? Does USA has any proof to come forward with infront of the people fo the world and justify the attack on Afghanistan... .
millions killed by american's but none of american shed a tear for them........o.kay we assume that alqaeda has done the 9/11 attack....fine....get after them...wht was the use of bombing whole counrty for that.........taliban was not in USA and they were not USA problem as well ....they were no direct thread to USA....that was unprovoked....whole country messed up.and still....its going on.........

and same is the case in Iraq.....sadam was not ur problem y did u stick ur nose in that matter...let them decied what ever he is.........

In lebonan also USA messed up with Israel.......so many innocent people killed....who is responsible? USA only....

Now if these victems are taking revenge from USA whts wrong with that?USA should be prepared "wht u sow, so shall u reap"

Y USA is bcoming sheriff of the world...and who asked for it....?
there are other super powers as well .......y ain't they doing anything bcoz USA Stupid is there to do these coward jobs....rite?

no answers of these questions.....then y americans r crying for 9/11 only?

Americans lack perspective. We are still such a young country, after all. Also like a young country, we tend to see only what is done to us and not necessarily what we have done to others. Most nations are like this, but we suffer from it slightly more than others due to our level of isolation from the rest of the world.

Let me think about it a moment.......2704 innocent American men, women and children - and 115 innocent foreign visitors - all murdered in one single event because of the Islamic terrorists' ideology of indescribable hatred.

Nope, I guess I can't imagine why Americans would "fuss over 9/11."

Because it's my life.

I'm sure those in Africa, Middle East and all over are crying for their own as well.

Who says I dont shed a tear?

We make a "fuss" because some terrorists crashed a couple of planes UNPROVOKED into thousands of innocent American citizens. We were not at war when this happened. In an actual war, there are always innocent casualties. This was terrorism.
