You are not reading that correctly, you must be Jehovah's Witness.
This is talking about the 144,000 Jews that will remain on the Earth during the Tribulation to witness about God.

Yes it is true! only 144,000 are going to heaven to rule with christ. These people are acknowledged by the Bible as being annointed. These people know who they are. So assume your not one of them. However there is a different hope for everybody else. The Bible speak of life on a paradise earth. Notice that God had originally put mankind on earth, not heaven. This is where God has purposed mankind to be. Notice Psalm 37:11, "11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." Also psalms 2:20, " 20 The purpose is that you may walk in the way of good people and that the paths of the righteous ones you may keep. 21 For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. 22 As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it." The Bible says that 144,000 are known as the little flock but it also speak of a great crowd in REV. 7:9. This great crowd is the poeple who will have survived armageddon and those resurrected from the dead all of which the Bible speaks of.

Before God made the heavens and the Earth He made the souls of all that was and will be from his own body. do you think he is going to leave any parts behind after the last day.No they will all be returned back into his body. Good and Evil.
It is the written oral history of creation and after.
The KJV does not have a preface for the books. Try using The New Jerusalem Bible it ha a preface to the book of Revelations that tels what it is about so you can translate the scripture better.
The Revelation to John:
The bible is summed up in the message of hope and the rich symbolism of the book. It is a vision of rescue from the trial's which beset God's people, and a promise of a glorious future. It draws on the whole of the bible.

Excuse me, but that is not what the bible says at all. The 144,000 are men who will be on earth during the tribulation and will be witnesses for Jesus Christ. They are from the 12 tribes of Israel...so that sort of undermines the Jehovah's Witnesses claiming they are the 144,000!

I believe the bible to be true, because it says at 2 Timothy 3: 16, "That the bible is inspired by God." God cannot lie, so therefore what ever he says will come true. These 144, 000, are people from all nations, that have been chosen by God to receive heavenly life. They have earned their gift, because of their true obedience to God and his son Jesus. What you don't realise is that they are fathers, mothers, sisters, and even brothers, they all have familys. But they will not see them again when they go to heaven, this is a sacrifice they are willing to make. They are a chosen race. Heavenly life is not what many people think of it. You are not floating around having a good time with your dead loved ones. They are going to be working along side Jesus and his father, serious work. The work of directing the others on earth. There is going to be a paradise on earth, soon. The bible tells us this at Revelation 3:7b, "To him that conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. and 2 Peter 3:13, " But there are a new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell." The new heavens was formed at 1914, when Jesus became king, and he kicked Satan to the earth, and now the 144,000 are being chosen to be with him. As to the new earth, we are all awaiting for it. It will be on the earth, after wicked ones are destroyed. I for one want to live in a paradise on earth and be with my children while we serve God together. I don't have the desire to live in heaven as a spirit, and that is okay with me and with God.

Check out the meanings behind numbers in the Bible...certain numbers are perfect...3, 7, 12 (tribes of Israel)...the mark of the beast is 666...three sixes=perfectly imperfect (the sixes are not quite a perfect 7)...144,000 is a multiple of 12...it just means a really big number, not literally 144,000.

Maybe you should look a few verses further down.
Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
These passages come AFTER the description of the 144000.
YES I do believe the Bible is true!!!

Are the 144,000 only natural Jews?
Rev. 7:4-8: “I heard the number of those who were sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: . . . Judah . . . Reuben . . . Gad . . . Asher . . . Naphtali . . . Manasseh . . . Simeon . . . Levi . . . Issachar . . . Zebulun . . . Joseph . . . Benjamin.” (These cannot be the tribes of natural Israel because there never was a tribe of Joseph, the tribes of Ephraim and Dan are not included in the list here, and the Levites were set aside for service in connection with the temple but were not reckoned as one of the 12 tribes. See Numbers 1:4-16.)
Rom. 2:28, 29: “He is not a Jew who is one on the outside, nor is circumcision that which is on the outside upon the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one on the inside, and his circumcision is that of the heart by spirit, and not by a written code.”
Gal. 3:26-29: “You are all, in fact, sons of God through your faith in Christ Jesus. . . . There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor freeman, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one person in union with Christ Jesus. Moreover, if you belong to Christ, you are really Abraham’s seed, heirs with reference to a promise.”
Is the number 144,000 merely symbolic?
The answer is indicated by the fact that, after mention of the definite number 144,000, Revelation 7:9 refers to “a great crowd, which no man was able to number.” If the number 144,000 were not literal it would lack meaning as a contrast to the “great crowd.” Viewing the number as literal agrees with Jesus’ statement at Matthew 22:14 regarding the Kingdom of the heavens: “There are many invited, but few chosen.”
What will those who go to heaven do there?
Rev. 20:6: “They will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.” (Also Daniel 7:27)
1 Cor. 6:2: “Do you not know that the holy ones will judge the world?”
Rev. 5:10: “You made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over [“on,” RS, KJ, Dy; “over,” AT, Da, Kx, CC] the earth.” (The same Greek word and grammatical structure is found at Revelation 11:6. There RS, KJ, Dy, etc., all render it “over.”)
144,000 will rule as "kings & priests" with Jesus, if you rule, there must be subjects in order for one to be a ruler. Billions of people will be resurrected to live on the Earth, they will be the people under this rulership.
This was King David's hope: "Psalms 37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever." From the Lord's or Father's Prayer:Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
