3 days ago at work. A coworker had confronted me in regards to something that she "claimed" that someone told her that I said something unethical about her. Anyhow I had explained myself and it turned out that it was something taken out of context. I was so upset that I lost my cool and swore (not at her in particular). Right now I am feeling so aweful. I am a born again christian, I shouldn't have handled it that way. How could I get people to start seeing me as a "christian" again?

Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven. Go to the ones you offended and ask for forgiveness

First of all, ask God to forgive you (if you feel you did something wrong). If you still feel you need to make amends with this person, do that. After you feel you have straightend things out as best you can, forgive yourself, and just look forward, not back. We all make mistakes. Sometimes we do things and then think, "that was terrible, I've absolutely blown my witness as a believer". Not so. If you make a mistake, and people see you admit to it, that is a good thing. God will make it right if you seek His help in making it right!

You might try going back to that person and apologizing for your reaction. It sounds like you weren't swearing at her, but at the incident itself.

If you apologize and explain that the situation upset you, but you acted in a way which was inappropriate and inconsistent with your faith, you'll be sending the message that you know it was wrong, and are strong enough to admit it.

Basically say what you did here in this public forum.

Well, I'm no expert but I think your main concern should be doing what's right and making amends with your co-worker, instead of worrying about how others "see you."
I hope self-image is not your main reason for being a Christian.

We all make mistakes sometimes, we are not perfect. Don't feel so bad, turn to your loved ones to make you feel better. You will always have to struggle in life to be a good person, the fact that you knew you were wrong is proof that you are indeed a good person.

Although we are Christians we are human, and we have tendency to over react sometimes. Ask your coworker for forgiveness. It may seem you are going way out to please them/ But that is not what or why you are doing it. You are being as GOD want you to be "in his image": He has forgiven us as we must sometimes do. We have wounded God by our sins, but we are wounded by people that sometimes no better.

My first question would be .... have you forgiven them?? and if so.... have you forgiven yourself??
It seems by your statements that you feel bad for your reaction... that is good. But you also have to realize that you will make mistakes.... probably many many more. You not only have to forgive others for their mistakes friend.... but you also have to forgive yourself and move on in faith knowing where you stand with God.

God bless you :)
