First of all I would like to address the fact that a Taurus isn't even considered a sports car, so why would you even put that in the same category as being the fastest car.....Based upon evidence the fastest production car at this time 2006 is none other the Bugatti Veyron....As for the Saleen S7 couldn't be labeled as the fastest because Saleen makes a twin turbo model of the S7 that still wouldn't be able to outrun the Veyron....

Since when does one contribute Taurus with being one of the fastest? Its only a 6 cylinder at best, and has less than 300 horses. For the longest time, the McLaren F1 blew everything out of the water with speeds of about 250 miles per hour. I think Lamborghini has that record now, but not sure. And I don't include jet powered cars, cause there's not too many gas stations with jet fuel to fill up once your empty.

You don't specify what kind of car, like sports car, fastest in the quarter mile, etc. In my opinion, the Testerosa would be the fastest car from take-off and at holding that speed. Real nice, but dangerous!
