I used to suffer alot from anxiety and panic attacks until I was diagnosed as a Bipolar Type II personality type. Which in very simple English terms means that there is a chemical imbalance going on in your brain...the only thing that seems to have helped me is taking a drug called Klonopin. This has to be prescribed by a doctor though so you have to go see either a regular MD or a psychiatrist. There is nothing wrong with needing help every once in a while...my husband has a term for it "better life through chemistry". Whatever you do, please get some kind of help, these panic attacks will not go away on there own.

I know exactly what you're talking about, it's the most awful feeling in life and you wouldn't wish it upon your worst enemy. You need to figure out why you are having these attacks, start with a list and work on one problem at a time. You may want to try medication. I was having anxiety attacks all the time and I had to start taking medication and now I only take it(medicine) every 3 days. At least with being on medicine you can stop worrying about when it's going to happen again, and focus on why it's happening. Good luck!!!

I'd head to the nearest psychiatrist for the depression, but you might try simple deep breathing exercises. Don't tense up, it just makes it worse. Relax as much as you can, breath deeply and slowly, and try to keep your mind blank.
Picture a white wall. In front of that wall is a dumpster. Put all your thoughts into that dumpster, lock the lid, then 'shove' it out of your field of view. Keep that white wall in front of your eyes for as long as you need to until you feel calm again.
Try to think of what brings on the attacks. Is it driving, a person leaving to go somewhere (even close by!) or something like that? Find out and do what you can to correct it. Breathing, exercising, or, yes, going to a psychiatrist might be a good idea.
Good luck, sweetie, and I hope I've helped, even if it's just a little bit.

Yes,I do,but generalised anxiety,not panic attacks.
From my own experience, the worst thing you can do is to try and fight anxiety.First, try to face the situation, then,as hard as it may be,accept your feelings of anxiety-they won't last forever...finally,let go-the more you fight it,the worse it becomes.
I can totally sympathise with your feelings of depression whilst experiencing this...it has the same effect on me.I actually think you're being very strong-severe anxiety is one of the worst things that you can feel.
You're certainly not alone with this...I imagine there are many people on this site right now having the same difficulties.

Not at this very moment but yes I have had several here in the last few days due to over stress which then I panic & have even more stress but in my case I cant drink or take most meds due to kidney problems but I do know what help me about 90% of the time depending on when , where & what I am doing or going I'm not sure if it will help but never hurts to try so here ya go If I was going to town with my husband & daughter out to eat & just think the resturant is full I start to panic and mess up dinner plans for all now we plan around days I know certain establishments are full on Fri. but normal sat we go on sat
or vice versa I used to pour myself into work always work work work made my daily work list & home list of things to do & would panic myself to tears if they were not complete Now I've cut my list almost in half not quite but almost & I complete the most important ones first & if I have time I add a few simple ones . Im not even good with crowds so if Im in that situation I picture all the Good looking ones Butt Nude & all the rest just blend in. when Im home a just begin to feel the painc in my chest or throat I found a computer game that keep distracts me without me really noticing The sims, & stratigy games work for me, & most of all I have someone who knows Me as a person, friend & more talk me through the worst of the worst he usualy picks a mini fight with me I blow smoth up & poof Im back in sync with me & not my fears a bit pissed at him but that fades when he says something from way out in left field like a big goof or I draw . Just keep in mind that as hard and as scary as they might seem They can always be beat. just hold on & you will regain you meds & drinks only cloud they dont eliminate. Hope You have a great tonight aswell as tomarrow & try not to sweat the small stuff. or as my Husband would say Just rub some dirt on it and where's the T.V remote ( all in one breath ) Told ya way out from left field.

Of couse many people have anxiety and/or panic attacks. You have to remind yourself that they always go away. Yes, at the moment you are having it, it may suck but rest assured that it will go away. So don't feed it. A good way to calm yourself down is to do slow abdomenal breathing. Take a slow breath in filling your belly with air like a balloon and exhale slowly through your nose letting all the air from your belly out like your deflating the balloon. It should help slow things down :)

You need to get to a doctor for a full work up. DO NOT let him prescribe anything that is addictive. You dont need that in your life. Make sure he does a full blood sugar work up and make sure you are eating right (low blood sugar mimics anxiety).
It's ok to have a panic attack. They wont kill you. Best thing to do is to just wait until they are over. Give yourself permission to feel that way and it can calm you down a little.
Good luck

I get drug induced anxiety attacks. Say I take psuedoephedrine medicine (cold meds) it triggers it. It took me a few years to figure out that anxiety attacks are triggered by medicine.
I cannot take Benadryl it gives me horrible attacks that I ended up at the ER. I cannot take psuedoephedrine type of meds.
