Only modern anti-Catholic fundamentalists say that.
All the orginal Protestant "reformers" understood the Blessed Virgin's God-given and true role in the life of the Church.
The Blessed Virgin truly represents all of us before her divine son, and the way Jesus treats his mother speaks volumes about the way he intends to treat all the faithful who overcome the world through him.
All you're going to get from our separated bretheren here is a bunch of rationalizations, bad scripture translations, and denials.

This passage is not a prayer to Mary but a greeting. The angel was not beseeching her help as catholics do, but saying "hello" with a blessing from God. Context is very important to determine how we should apply the Bible to our lives. For example, "Our Father" (also prayed by catholics) was given by Jesus to the disciples as a prayer in Matt. 6:9-13.

Ive by no skill had to persuade myself, its continually been extremely glaring that it doesnt carry Gods authority, no rely how nicely-intentioned that's. on the different hand, the catholic church might nicely be credited for carrying the gospel alongside all the early years throughout the time of the apostasy. Had they no longer integrated lots of traditions of guy into it, it might resemble God's church lots greater effective than it does now. I dont propose that in the time of any style of impolite way. i think of every physique who makes the attempt to attempt and stick to god and grow to be greater christ-like is on the spectacular direction.

Hi Glad2BCatholic. If your asking why protestants do not glorify the Virgin Mary mother of Jesus in the same way as the Catholic church, it's because God tells us not to. We read in Luke 11:27-28:
"And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”
28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
As you can see Jesus deflected praise from His mother and told us blessed are those who believe. We are to glorify God.

Because Protestants mistake the Angelic Salutation for the actual worship that is reserved for God Alone.
God Bless you. I'm happy to be Catholic also.:-)

in the King James it says: Luke1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
And yes Mary was highly favoured with God that is why he selected her to be the vessel he used to bring the promised Messiah. However no where in the Bible are we instructed to worship Mary, nor put her in any special place in our lives. She was a tool used by God to bring about his prophecy. Just as Noah, Moses, Joshua,Ruth, John the Baptist, and many others. These people all found favor with God. But i dont see people putting statues of them in their homes.. (or should i say idols)
I dont see anyone praying to them.... or asking their intercession......
Jesus Christ is The Messiah.. he has no co-redeemer.... He and He alone paid the price for mans sin.... He and He alone is Risen and alive today. If you feel you need to put faith in a dead woman friend.... thats sad... but its your choice.
God bless you will be praying for you

The word "hail" here is not used as a synonym for worship. Hail here means "Hark!" or "Listen!" It's one of those words that has been misconstrued from its original Greek contexts
