At night my brother's cat comes into the hallway where all of the bedrooms are and starts to make a noise. It sounds almost as if he's crying or whining. Call me crazy but to me it sounds like he saying hello. We keep all our bedroom doors closed when we go to bed. The cat will come right by our bedroom doors first and then go all around our apartment making this noise. Is there anything that we could do to stop it from doing it? He keeps me up for half the night because of this.

WHERE IS EVERYBODY?
DOESN'T ANYBODY LOVE ME?
HELLO CAN ANYONE HEAR ME, I WANT SOME ATTENTION AND A BIG BED TOO!

Kitty just wants to have an idea where everyone is, and to be able to cuddle and stuff. Recommend to brother to put cat in his room at night to calm the "nighttime cat calls". It could also be the cat hears another cat in another apartment and is just catching up on gossip. Good Luck!

Is he an older cat? Older cats are prone to developing hyperthyroidism and yowling in the night is a symptom and needs to see the vet for treatment.
If he's a younger cat, then chances are he's lonely and wants to be with someone.

He wants to sleep with a human in the family. Many cats feel that's an important part of their security.

Could be caterwauling. He might be in heat. I think hes also lonely. Let him stay with one of you during the night, or try leaving the doors open so he can come and go as he pleases.
