School is for learning. Express yourself on your parent's time, not the time I pay taxes for. Stop being an idiot and learn something. Not just something in school but something about LIFE. There are times when you just have to conform. I don't want to wear a tie everyday, but I do it because they pay me well to do it. I would not have this job if I wore face paint and azz clothes. What the FLICK is wrong with you people? What contribution does your stupid wardrobe make? You wanna stand out? Do something WELL and do something SMART. At least you will be remembered for something worthy and not for being an outcast. I'd truly like to put the smackdown on you AND your parents for you even THINKING like you do. As for blacks and their baggy azz droopy pants, you'd think they would have realized by now that they can't run from cops that way. You know why they made that look seem cool? Because their welfare/gubment chees azzes had to wear hand me down clothes and rather than be embarrassed, they made it a fashion.

First of all, your job is to be a parent and if you know a neighborhood kid is in trouble, it is your first and primary responsibility to tell that parent of the child. If you don't, you aren't a very good parent and have your priorities compleatly out of balance. Tell the girl that you care for her, but she is thirteen and still a child. Tell the girls Mom. Tell the truth, the whole truth and if you facilitated this occurance by covering it up (duh) or knowing the child was having sex when she wasn't supposed to, you will experience backlash and deservingly so. As an adult, your responsibility is to act like one and unless you just found out, you haven't set a good example for your child. I know being the cool mom is fun, but grow up. The best moms are rarely the cool ones. As for your daughter, you setting this example should send a message. You should also have a long, in depth conversation with her about sex, babies, and birth control AND disease prevention. If you want her to abstain, tell her so...also tell her the consequences of being pregnant, however don't forget the responsibility to share the what ifs and how tos of safe sex. You can't always be there and everyone knows kids are dumb and make mistakes. Leaving them ignorant of the truth is your mistake. Don't rely on the school to have the talk. Be open and honest and frank. Let her know her expectations.

i know tell me about the cheerleaders can go around wearing miniskirts and belly shirts but when i was in high school i couldn't even wear a tank top unless the straps were more than your hand wide and a skirt had to be close to your knees
we had a protest about it but it just made things worse i was just glad we didn't have to wear uniforms b/c no matter what you are wearing if people don't like you you are still gonna get pick on and that's a bunch of bs

If you have a true gripe, complain to the school district. Personally, I think that ALL schools should have a dress code to keep everyone "happy". Hey, complain if you will but having uniforms is a lot nicer than having to compete in a fashion show every day.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but don't kids go to school to learn?

I went to high school in 1969. There was a war going on - THEN TOO! - and it was a war WE SHOULD NOT BE IN EITHER. Funny, nothing in life changes.
Schools have very strict rules about clothing. They want to emphasize school spirit and positive things in life.
When minorites came into school, everything changed. For the minorites ONLY. Suddenly everytime the school asked them to follow school rules, they were "racist." So the rules are relaxed for people of darker color. Tighter for people of lighter color.
A double standard. But this has been going on for years and years.
When you are MY age your kids will be complaining about the same thing! Just graduate and move on with life. A whole different set of stupid rules.

Depends on what school you go to. In all the schools around where I live they wont let you sag, wear face paint, dress like a slut(no halter tops spaghetti string strap shirts and no skirts or short shorts.) It sounds like your school is just discriminating, either that or you're exaggerating.

I think you should be able to wear face paint as long as it's not real distracting. But I wish kids would keep their butts and panties covered. That's so gross to see crack so much....LOL

according to my high school, teachers and staff feel it "distracts students from learning" and some clothing "promotes bad things" which is a bunch of b.s. if you ask me
