Leave Christmas alone - - I agree.
ACLU is such an angry group arent they? always complaining and griping. they preach tolerance, acceptance and live and let live...yet they complain about everythng.
its getting ridiculous. I say merry Christmas to whomever I want - if they dont beleive in it - -then thats their problem. I dont cry when people say happy Hanakkuh or Kwanza - - They'll get over it.

I have no idea but this is something that has bothered me for quite some time. I'm not a Christian. We are a pagan family. But I don't see anything wrong with Christmas and other Christian holidays and I'm not sure why people get their panties all in a bunch over it. I've known people to get worked up because someone told them "Merry Christmas". Why? It isn't the words but the spiriti behind it that means something. Maybe I don't believe in Jesus but I sure appreciate the sentiment behind someone telling me "Merry Christmas". It is a nice thing.
I first clued into something be wrong when I worked at an after school center. This was back in 99. I was in charge of the library. I was reorganizing and archiving the books and I came across many about Christmas and Easter. I also found some about Kwanzaa and Hanukkah. I has set them aside to be put in a different area of the room when our director came in and saw them. She picked up all the books about Christmas and Easter and told me I needed to get rid of them. ??? I asked why. She said that we are not allowed to promote religion or holidays. So, I said then we'd better remove the other books as well. She said that no, those could stay. So bascially only books dealing with the Christian religion were taboo. Otherwise, there wasn't a problem. I was so ticked off and very confused as to why no one else could see why this was a problem.
Since then I've seen this same mentality spread to a much larger scale. I think it is sad.

The ACLU doesn't want use to have religious freedoms. They were actually started by a communist.
And yes, I do believe we will have another "war" on Christmas. Just don't give into it and maybe this nation will stand a chance.

Who went to war on Christmas?
O'Reilly just needed something to get his knickers in a twist about to boost his ratings whilst everyone was off at the mall!
The ACLU is just protecting my right to burn a Yule Log alongside the creche in front of city hall and for my neighbor to enjoy a giant menorrah planted there while our other neighbor celebrates Eid alongside!! Things that would never happen without a fight, basically.
I'm still awaiting a stamp that commemerates the fact that the U.S. includes Buddhists, Hindus, Wiccans, etc. as Christians have long had stamps pointing to the Christmas holiday and at least Jews and Muslims have been respected thusly.
In fact, my mom likes to buy the Eid stamps for her holiday cards just to dig at the more fundie relatives!

Give it up scum of the earth. Their is no war on Christmas idiot. Tell me when was the last time anybody walked into a mall and found out that Santa couldn't say Merry Xmas or things like that?
Even nutcase inbred conservatives laugh about this phantom "war on Christmas". We have thousands being killed in Iraq over Lie's and you pick this to whine about.

it's really genius... Orielly blows like two wackjobs totally out of proportion and calls it a "war on Christmas" and all the conservatives eat it up..
I've not seen or heard anyone say anything about any of it... besides Orielley?
he got tons of ratings off of a made up war... once again he illustrates just how gullible the religious right is and how badly they want to be persecuted and fight it...

Hello,
Yes, I already feel it coming on. Can't wait to see what Bill O'Reilly will say or write this year. It is very sad and pathetic how our country is so two faced about any POV or religious affiliation we may have.
But, the ACLU has always hated Christians. They are doing their very best to wipe Christianity out of our society and we are letting them....
Hope this helps you..... :-)

I predict people will talk about a war on Christmas again this year. That was all a load of crap last year.

I don't recall seeing any "War on Christmas" last year. I was free to celebrate the birth of Christ and nobody hassled me.
