no. A study was done by the University of Georgia where church congregations prayed for three groups of post-operative heart-surgery patients.

The first group was prayed for and didn't know it.

The second (control) group was not prayed for.

The third group was prayed for and told they were being prayed for.

The results:
There was no difference in the recovery rates of the first and second group. The third group, however, had WORSE recovery rates.

This study was carried out with the Templeton group, a christian group. They supressed the results.

Prayer has helped me and brought me through many things. But when we pray we must pray believing .... not doubting. You cant pray in the mindset of maybe... or if I catch God in a good mood maybe.... You have to pray KNOWING that he is God of his word without doubt.
Mac Momma said in her post about the study done..... of course this assumes that the people in the group that were not supposed to be prayed for had no family members .... no church..... no friends .... that were praying for them also...... highly doubtful such a study could be even remotely believable.... you would have to know every person and family member they have and no for a fact that none of them were praying for the person who had surgery..... hmmmmmm what are the odds??

No In fact praying to a God is a waste of time.Only you can help you. There is no great plan for us we have to each be responsible for our own successes and failures and let that itself be the judge. When you pray your basically hoping for a miracle and giving yourself false reassurances.Praying is counterproductive to your result because while your praying your not trying to solve your problem

Pray to Him and pray often. Pray as many times as you like. He's right there with you, and wanting to talk with you. Just remember that God loves you and wants to see you as happy as you can be. Tell Him anything you can think of, even the things you feel you can't tell anyone else.

He's always with you, and He loves you.

God bless.

In all things. Rising, eating, breathing, working, everything. Prayer is just a conversation with God so if you live your life in his constant company you can't help but pray all the time and he cannot help but love you for it and be with you all the time.

Yes, it does. When praying be detailed and specific. Speak to your Father God like you would speak to a best friend, because God is you best friend. Greet him, ask him hows he doing let him know how you feel. Do this everyday. You will see results. ( Faith is huge role so take huge helping of that everyday)! God loves you and wants to be your friend.

We pray because we are either selfish or think that God's ego needs boosting and we thus tell him how great he is, as if he doesn't know this. We hardly pray just to say hello or I love you.

Yes. “Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let YOUR petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard YOUR hearts and YOUR mental powers by means of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6,7) You must meet certain requirements though.

I don't think it does. I also don't believe in god. You have to make your own decisions and do what you think is right in this world to make things better. Your life is up to you. You will receive this same answer by people who do believe in God. Many people think that God Starts You Off and you make your own decisions after that.
