my last question I asked "overnight" which was stupid of me....

here's what I should have said:
I've been asked to come up with a figure of what I would charge to babysit a 4 year old boy and a 1 year old boy from a Friday at 3pm until Sunday at 7:00pm. Mom and Dad will be at a cabin for a little R&R.
What do you think would be an okay flat fee?
Parents: what would you reasonably pay for this reprieve?
Thaaaankkks I'm clueless and I don't want to completely rape them while they are on vacay.

Wow...for an entire weekend...that's taking on alot of responsibility. I would think about $150-$200.

Interesting choice of words there!
You sound pretty smart. How about yo ask some friends who also babysit in your area what the "going rate" is. I think a flat rate per 24 hour period ( or portion thereof) would be acceptable, but you have to factor in the fact that you will have 24-hour responsibility, not just 8 hours out of 24 ( 48 in this case)
Where I live, it might be worth $100. Where you live, even $300-$400 may not be unreasonable I suspect that Manhattannites may pay $500!

No less than $250, plus they should feed you, leave some spending money for activities, and maybe even give you use of one of their cars. Those ages are really difficult to work with at the same time, and it's not like you'll be having hours on end to yourself to do homework or relax!

Trades are good, too, if it works. I used to sit for a couple who were optometrists and I didn't have insurance, so they'd give me free eye exams. Not very exciting, but worth the trade for sure.

I only have one daughter, but just for her, if someone was going to babysit for that long, I would EXPECT to be paying around $200 as well as providing all meals, snacks and drinks for the sitter.
If the sitter was planning on doing some activities with my daughter, I would also leave spending money to cover anything they may need.

Say 10 bucks per hour. So count all the hours then multiply by 10 bucks. Or come up with a per hour rate. 10 is the norm, some pay much more. If you want to be generous make it 8 bucks per hour.

Girl, that is over 50 hours. I would at least charge $300. What would that figure? That figures 6 per hour. That sounds reasonable. You have to remember, that is 24 hours per day and that is also your whole weekend.

Some people would say about $100.00 or more depends on what you think is right . Others if they are close to you would do it for free or just leave it up to the parents.

It depends on how rotten the kid is.
If the kid is well behaved( the 4yr old) I would charge
at least $175.00. You might have fun watching them.
