I was actually wondering who the last leader of a country led his troops into combat. I think if they are going to start wars then they should be the first to jump in the fight.

A world leader as in King, President, etc. who physically lead an army of men into combat. As in Nepolean Bonapart.

It's rare now a days to have a leader of a country fight in combat while as the leader; it's just too risky. Many of the world's leaders have had some combat experience and many others have not. The only US President to personly lead troops into combat while President was President James Madison in the War of 1812.

1. Define World Leader?
-Bush Sr, fought in WW II, shot down in the Pacific.
-Colin Powell-Desert Storm, Vietnam
-Rumsfeld-Vietnam
-Pretty Sure all the Isreal Government
-Putin- Probably the Soviet Invansion of Afghanistan
-Numerous other's that we have not even heard about
2. Define fight in combat; meaning fired a gun or led Armies?
edit: in definition then; there probably hasn't been a "world leaer' to lead an army into battle for quite some time. World leaders have been leaders ordered into combat but never led as the world leader. I would guess at Napolean being one of the last to do so. World leaders are not very effective if they get killed leading Armies into battle, that is why we have a chain of command.

George Washington led his troops into battle. Country was so young at the time, though I don't believe there was a Presidential office per se when that occurred?? Eisenhower, MacArthurs office boy, may have commanded a battle, but I doubt that he lead the way into battle, and it wasn't done when he took the office of President. Other countries will have to answer for their own leaders. I only bark in one language.

George Bush senior fought in Combat. World wide I don't know. All the Israelis fought in battle and so did the middle East Arabs and Persians. That's because they never stop fighting.

Depends... are you asking if they fought before or after they became a world leader?
I would have to say Charlemagne, but mainly because I like his name.

The last American prez was George H. W. Bush. He was a fighter pilot, before him, I'm pretty sure it was JFK. They both fought in WWII

There are oodles out there, but I know for a fact Fidel Castro and Che fought together. Fidel may be old, but he could still break one's legs. (Probably breaking his own at the same time, but I don't know if that would stop him. Breaking his arm didn't.)
