She gets her natural black hair from her father's side, and I've been taking her to the salon to lighten it since she was 11 years old. Anyway, she is now 16 and for the past 2 months she refuses to dye her roots blonde. It looks really disgusting right now with her black roots showing. It looks like she cant afford a dye job or she has really bad fashion sense. How can I convince her to get her hair colored so she wont look so bad and embarass herself?

Why don't you just leave her alone? She doesn't need a mother who nags her about her appearance so much. It's just hair, it's not the end of the world. Maybe she doesn't want to do it. Maybe she likes it. Let her be already.

she shouldn't have gotten her hair dyed at 11 but that's a moot point. She's 16 now leave her alone and let her decide what the heck she wants to do with her own hair. At 16 she's probably going to do exactly the opposite of whatever you're pushing for.

It's you that are embarrassing yourself. Leave the poor girl alone. I believe a persons natural hair color generally looks the best on them anyway.

If she doesn't care, shes obviously not embarassed, just you. Maybe you should figure out why looks are so important to you, and find a way to change that instead of trying to push that value on your daughter.

Maybe she wants it to go back to black color. Try suggesting a hair trim to start cutting off the blonde hair.

Hmm...that's a tough one. Who don't you sedate her and dye her roots while she's out? Come on, chica, get a life. You're a ***** for even thinking about forcing your daughter to do something so petty.

I have dark brown roots and the rest of my hair is red. Why do you care so much? Just let her do what she wants. She probably wants to just grow it out.

uncertain what variety of colour remover you used, yet bout the only concern to do could be to pass to a salon and get them to hilite it extremely heavy to get many of the colour out. black dye would not pop out of blonde hair honestly, it is going to take bleach to interrupt that colour up.

friends try to force you to do things you don't wanna do...and are seriously obsessed with looks.
while moms are supposed to be there for you nomatter what your roots look like...

Ignore them. Remember your reactions when your mom insisted you stop dating that guy in high school? Stop being your mom and she'll figure it out!
