Don't drink coffee!!! or anything with caffeine!
Why don't you exercise just before bed time, take shower and go to bed. Than you can imagine how life could be, or what you can do, or imagine having sex with someone, or have sex with someone, or just think what would you do if you win lottery...and before you know you are fast asleep...
it works for me!

Toss the pills. There was actually a study done, I can't remember where, that said people who suffer from insomnia should find a way to get out into the sun. Sunlight releases a chemical in the brain that keeps your body clock on the right cycle-up during the day, asleep at night.
Try exercising, drink less caffine during the day, taking a long, relaxing shower or bath before bed, or meditation. I suffered from insomnia and even withdrawls from sleeping pills and I bought some relaxing music and one of those sound machines (rain, waves, wind, white noise, etc.) and haven't had a problem sleeping since. If I'm staying somewhere that I don't have either the music or the machine, I play it in my head, and the next thing I know, it's morning.
If that doesn't work, see a doctor. S/He may be able to give more information and/or ideas on how to get your sleep schedule back on track.
Good luck.

Okay there is not much you can do at the moment but there are lifestyle changes you can make that will help.
1. Sleeping pills are addictive and you should probably avoid them.
2. Get up early even if you have had NO sleep.
3. This one helped me. You have to reset your internal clock. In the morning lay out in the sunshine. It needs to hit your closed eyes. Do this for approx 30 min in the morning time and it will help your internal clock reset so you will be tired at nigth.
4. Exercise and take showers in the morning not at night. Your body must cool down a little before it gets sleepy and raising your body temperature before bedtime just means it has to cool that much more before you can sleep.
5. Don't drink alcohol before bed.
6. Don't drink caffeine or eat chocolate starting after lunch.
7. Turn off the tv/light/ music etc. and lie down... and concentrate on each of your muscles starting at your feet and slowly relax each muscle. Usually you will be asleep before you get to your back.
Good luck... I know what it is like

There are some herbal remedies also. Try looking into what GNC has to say that is if there are any where you live if not than whatever is close to it. A change in your diet might also help. Try not eating any red meat for awhile. Lean meats like the other white meat pork and poultry like turkey can also help to calm you down.Less spicy foods and whatever you might be taking for a boost. One site had mentioned having some quick carbs to help also such as a bowl of sweet cereal or Cinnamon toast or pop tarts. You might be having repetitive thoughts and are thinking too much when you should be concentrating on an empty and or dark room. I prefer to have some white noise like a fan running. Sounds like something has you stressed. Sometimes sex can brake the repetitive thoughts so you can relax and have a change of thoughts. See a therapist much?

I have gone through this with something called gravol... it is really easy to start this habit and real hard to break it. You are gonna need to tell your doctor and he/she will probably tell you to get out and get some more exercise. My doc said don't take them but it will be a tough week the first week. You will be back into routine in one week... because the first 3 nights are going to be real hard if you are on a regular routine of going to bed at night at a certain time and have to be up early for work. By the third day you are so tired you want to stay in bed. It is a real hard thing to break if you don't do it this way.. or exercise or go for a long walk about 2 hours before bed and then don't eat any caffenine type stuff after 7pm. Have a (I know I know...yuck) warm cup of milk before bed too.

Focus and clarity on the third eye can take you into the dream world if you choose to change. Cease eating after 7:00pm to allow the stomach to rest and open your mind to trying an herbal solution. Skullcap, passionflower, and a variety of herbs are wonderful when combined with a hot shower or bath utilizing aromatherapy bath gels or soaps. The most effective sleep enducer is to believe you are going to lay the body in a safe place to heal while you go and travel to intelligent places in the universe and meet interesting and advanced people with answers to your every challenge.ZZZZZZZ:)

Thats a really bad habit to get into that can lead to serious health problems. Your addicted to taking them. Sleeping pills are drugs. You need to get yourself into a normal routine again, it will take time but will be worth it. Make a daily plan;plan meals and when u will go to bed and stick to it every night. Dont eat or drink at least 3-4 hours before going to bed. You need to calm down not hyp up. Dont drink coffee, red bull etc. cut all of it out for the next few months. If you have heaps and heaps of energy still before you planned time to sleep take a shower or bath to relax and calm down.
IF you dont do anything during the day of course your goin to have heaps of energy! go to the gym and get rid of your energy there or do another job. I used to have the same problem-i got so used to taking them that they didnt work any more and i found myself using triple the reccommended dose.
Now i have my days planned out and stick to a routine of getting up at 7am and going to sleep at 9:30pm. It took 6months of lying in bed for hours trying so hard to sleep but eventually i did it. Now i am getting to sleep within half an hour of going to bed.

sounds like ya caught yourself a little addiction problem...what kind of sleepin pills are ya takin?are they prescribed?if not...try to do some physically active work during the day....go for a walk...whatever works for ya..to kind of wear ya down..then end the night with a good long hot relaxin bath...if that don't work, there are "over the counter"meds., especially in the vitamin dept., of a store...like maybe..walmart or somewhere like that..try something called "MELATONIN" .it's in the vitamin section..it's natural, shouldn't hurt ya....never heard of it becoming addictive...but,you should check with a doctor, about any med,if you're in doubt.....and if you're havin sleepin problems, you should see a doctor anyway..might be somethin else goin on...be safe.... good luck :)

first of all get rid off the pills..,you dont need those.
you made your body dependent on those pills, and that not good.
if you are not tired,no problem..then dont go to sleep..,skip one night of sleep..i'm certain you will be happy to lay yourself down to sleep the next night, without the pills.
