This is a question that's been bugging me.

Christians keep bashing atheists because "it's so unlikely that there could have just been this big explosion and all the pieces of our universe just by chance fit neatly together." Well, first off, *no* they didn't just fit neatly together, it took billions of years to get them that way, and billions more for everything to evolve to what it is now. And even though we can never experience the beginning, we can do experiments to simulate what happened and by that add more credence to our ideas.

How is it any more logical to believe that out there somewhere is some huge, wonderful source of power and knowledge? Seriously, HOW is this logical? I just *honestly* do *not* get it at all. At least we know that what we're proposing *could* have happened. You don't even know if the idea of "god" is possible, theoretically speaking (try proving it to someone who doesn't believe it). How can god be sentient if he is essentially nothing?

I ran out of room!

I wanted to add that I'm not putting this up to bash Christians or people of any other religion, as many people on this forum seem to do. I am simply interested in what other people think about it. Atheists/agnostics, do you agree? Christians, how would you respond to this?

Ok, preachertime, while you didn't really answer the question, I see where you're coming from. Truly, I understand that you're trying to say it's more logical to believe that the universe formed because it was created that way by an outside force and not that it just came out that way by chance. My question was, how is it logical to believe in that outside force? What is that outside force? What is it made of? What is its existence like? I could word it a thousand different ways, but I suppose Christians will continue to ignore the real question because they simply can't answer it.

Secondly, scientists and those who believe in evolution, etc. do not believe based on faith. Faith is, by definition, "belief that is not based on proof." We have proof for what we believe, and we realize that we can't be certain about those things for which we have no proof, unlike Christians.

In science, all experiments are repeated numerous times. We don't even take for granted that just because something happens one way once means it will happen the same way the next time. In science, everything is checked so many times! There is little doubt that what we obtain from the results is anything other than proof!

I have no problem with the Big Bang theory, where i differ with scientists on it is simple..... they cant explain what exploded or why it exploded. By faith I believe there was a very massive explosion... When God spoke his awesome power of creation into the void... there was absolutly a massive explosion of power.
Atheists want us to believe that the complexities of this universe just "worked themselves out".... even as you said over billions of years..... if so them explain what exploded at the big bang that made all this "come into being".... explain if that was a huge ball of energy or matter.... where did this matter come from??

Friend everything is based around faith whether you realize it or not. Christians and people of other Religious beliefs utilize their faith in God. Many Scientists and atheists, agnostics... put their faith in science... but its still..... Faith....

Friend you want me to explain the unexplainable. No one can explain "what God is made of" he is the creator... we still have so many of his creations that we cant explain..... if we cant explain the creation.... how do we explain the creator himself?
And even if we could find a way to write it down... how could our minds even begin to comprehend it?
Thats why we have faith... faith to accept faith to trust him even when we dont understand all the things our minds question... whether I know the answer your looking for or not friend.... He does.... and if you will seek them through learning about him in his word... he will give you peace about your questions.

God bless you

I respect your beliefs, but I must say I disagree. Resent discoveries show that the earth is not nearly as old as everyone seems to think it is. Also, studies show that evolution is highly unlikely due to a mutation process that the animal ( or human) must go through. Say a bat evolved from a rodent, like a rat, studies show that during the evolution process, the animal would have had to have it's forepaws elongate giving it useless limbs , and thus making the animal worse off, not better off, as evolution is supposed to do. The animal would die out before it had fully evolved into it's new form.
I could go on forever about all the failures of the evolution theory, but I'll just add that no solid evedence has ever been found. One of evolutionists favorite arguments is the horse series (fosils of prehistoric animals that resemble the horse, and vary in size.) The horse theory has several flaws. One is that the number of ribs changes several times as the animal "evolved." The ribs change from a number of eighteen to fifteen to nineteen.
Such a jumping back in forth, with ribs dissappearing, and reappearing like "magic," suggests that the horse series is simply a collection of unrealated animals that resemble one another. The fatal blow to the horse series, however, is that the remains of the earliest "horse," have been found to be the same age, or younger than the remains of horses today. This is only one example of failure. Also, there has never been solid proof of the evolution of ape to man. One other thing I'll let you know, before I stop, is that historians, and scientists have found solid proof of stories in the bible, such as the exodus, and the story of Joseph, and his coat of many colors. The creation versus evolution debate is not about what science says, but about what man believes. Neither theories are completely provable, but what science, and neardeath experiances keep suggesting is that there is somethiong more out there; something that many people are missing because of a stubborn belief, not because of cold hard facts.

John 4:24 "God is a Spirit." The bible is scientifically correct even though it is not a science book. Such as when people thought the earth was flat the bible said that the earth is a sphere suspended in mid-air. Late on this was proven correct so why should we not believe that he created rather than there being evolution?

Jesus isn't God. Trinitarians are certainly unaware of what the Bible relatively says. At Ps. eighty three:18, Jehovah is known as the Most High. When saying Jesus' start, the angel Gabriel advised Mary that she might provide start to the Son of the Most High. (Luke a million:32) What would be extra undeniable than that? John three:17 says that God despatched his Son to earth. What would be extra undeniable than that? At John 10:36, Jesus known as himself the Son of God. What would be extra undeniable than that?

I'm not so sure i can trust a man made experiment to convince me of a theory. But i can claim the promises in the Bible and see if they really work(which they do)
