To be honest, it's really easy, but on the other hand can be hard to understand. First the most important is that you believe that Jesus is the son of God. Jesus is all in one, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus died and rose again. Jesus died for our sins, because we are sinners, we are born of sin (meaning we are not perfect, but Jesus was) he took the burden of our sins and because he died for us we can be forgiven, and he lives today in heaven but most important in our hearts. When you believe all of this then you can commit your life to Christ. (John 3:16) That part is the easy part once you realize you believe... you TELL Jesus that you believe in him, that he died for your sins and that he is the only way to heaven,,, Then you ASK him into your heart. I don't believe it needs to be fancy, you don't need to say fancy words or even "know what to say" I was 8 yrs old and said it as a simple prayer, Jesus please come into my heart, I believe in you. I remember the day as if it were yesturday and believe me it was quite a bit ago :). God knows what is in your hearts, he doesn't need to hear big wording or the "right" thing... You let him know that he is the one and only God and he will be there for you. (when you do it, don't be surprised that no big lightening bolts happen, or a flash of light that stuff rarely happens) It's what you do afterwards is what is also important. Showing and telling others that you are a believer and a follower is important also.. but after you do ask Jesus, just take baby steps and open your bible and God will guide you. I promise! I hope this helps, if you need more answers I'm sure there are plenty more people on here including myself who would be willing to help :)

Realized 28 years ago that my sin separated me from a Holy God and that I couldn't do anything about it. Trusted Jesus Christ with my life and He took my guilt and shame of the wrong that I'd done. Began walking with Him Easter Sunday 1979!
Free at last!

well, my story is one where I felt God was speaking to me over time in many different ways. I grew up as catholic and was exposed to the faith early on but never really decided for myself weather I really believe all of these things that I was brought up with. I was in search mode for a while when I started going to college--searching for the Truth. God was able to put different people in my path that spoke to me and answered a lot of questions I had. Ultimately, I think it was the amazing realization of how much God loved me is what really drew me to become a believer. I occasionaly would flip through the Bible and one time I was reading the book of Romans and there was one section when I was reading where I just felt a warmth come over me and started crying as I thought about how much Jesus Christ loved me even though I am a sinner. Just amazing to realize that the God the universe loves you-even though you are so undeserving. I will pray for you that Jesus' love would be know in your heart also. You should keep reading His Word and praying to Him as much as possible--He will answer your prayers and bless you. God Bless you my friend

I was raised knowing the name of Jesus, and I would always ask him into my heart. Now I know I only needed to ask him once. I was broken over my sin about 5 years ago, and now I want to live my life more like him.

I witnessed my dad getting baptized in 1993. That inspired me to ask questions about salvation and security in Heaven. I then accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and secured my place in Heaven! My sins have been forgiven!

You don't. He said to submit your will to the Father in Heaven. Paul and others are the ones that added to his teachings.
