Science is now available and we have to use it. They have calculated each year and they have been correct because it is based off of the lunear calander. It has been calculated that the Eid in the U.S. should be on Monday October 23rd,2006

the Islamic Society of Noth American has already declared Eid to be on Monday. They decided that last Friday, don't ask me how that worked out! As far as I know, it depends on the sighting of the moon, so I will find out tonight when we will be celebrating Eid.

Well, one way to be sure is if you see the crescent moon of Shawwal. However, if scientists can figure out when that phase of the moon will appear, then I guess you don't have to worry. Still, my family and I are going to celebrate it on Monday, the 23rd of October.

there are regional differences but it is always on the last day of ramadan for all muslims, sunni or shia. The date changes by year, and this year its october 23

I dont know why the middle east are celebrating on a day earlier but for us in singapore is on 24th oct 2006. which i think if you ask me is weird cos normally we celebrate it on the same day..
