I broke up with my boyfriend and while I was having "the talk" I ended up saying that I loved him but it just wasn't working, I also told him not to feel obligated to say I love you back to me b/c I didn't want him to if he didn't mean it.
Later, we got back together and one night, when he thought I was ASLEEP he whispered "I love you" in my ear. Needless to say, I think that's kinda chicken of him but I want to know if ya'll think he meant it...??? He's a really good boyfriend otherwise.

Yeah i believe he does, he is obviously scared though be patient if you truly believe he is worth the wait.

He loves you trust me. Guys go through what I call the four stages of love before he says it., Phase 1 He sees you, He wants you. Phase 2 He trys to win you over. Phase 3 He pulls out a freek-out. Phase 4 He settles into live as a twosome. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check the new issue of Cosomopolitan.com the November version.
