Most effective pick up line

I know this is kind of side stepping the question, but it's still a good 'response' I think. They don't work. Ever. Want to know why there are so many pick up lines? Because guys keep bombing out with them and trying to come up with new ones. They just don't work. I suggest a simple, honest, and direct approach. Ofcourse it's great to have something funny to say at first, that'll atleast buy you some time to make an impression. I wouldn't 'pre-plan' anything funny though. Hopefully you can comment on a situation that's taking place right there and then.

Labled CHAOS THEORY "Chaos theory says that complex dyanamical systems become unstable because of disturbances in their environments after which a strage attractor draws the trajectory of the stress. I am a complex dynamical system. And i was stable until you caused a distubance in my environment. And since you're the strangest attractor in the room i followed the trajectory of my stress right to you." No, this didnt work, but he got a laugh, and it was clever enough that i asked him to repeat it so i could write it down.

It was kind of cute, really, he said, "Hi! Didn't our mothers go to different schools together?" I thought about it and started laughing and joking with him. We talked enough that I got to know him and agreed to go out.
