Look at his diet. Add more fiber to his diet. Try the BRAT diet....bananas, rice, apples, toast. Get off sugar, refined foods and give more fresh fruits and veggies. Look at stress levels. Is this a new thing or has he always done this? What's normal for him may not seem normal for you. Are you talking watery stools or just unformed feces? Has he had a stool culture? No best solution with the small amount of information you have given.

It's probably diet-related. Make sure that he is not drinking an excessive amount of juice or taking in a lot of refined sugar or sugar substitutes. Alcohol sugars are notorious for causing diarrhea or loose stools in children.

How loose is "loose"? Soft? Watery? If it is true diarrhea, you need to take him to the doctor. If it is just soft, I wouldn't worry about it.
