Are you talking about Lap Band?
if so I know lots of people that have had that done. IT is a wonderful surgery. If all else fails then definitely get it.

I haven't personally had it done, but I have a friend who did. I also have another friend who had traditional gastric bypass. Given the choice of the two, banding is definitely the better option.

My friend who was banded did have some weird cravings and sleep walked and ate at night. She would wake up while eating things she wasn't supposed to have. But that was only for the first couple of weeks or so -- obviously psychological. Once that passed, she was fine and has never regretted it. She lost like 75 pounds and is keeping it off. At first she was losing too quickly, so they adjusted the band to lose at a healthier rate. If she starts to regain, they can just adjust it so she will lose again.

My other friend had bypass surgery about 4 years ago. She lost a lot of weight, but has started to regain some of it. Plus she has trouble eating certain foods, like red meat and cheese. She even has to cut her spaghetti into really small bites in order to digest it properly. Given the choice, I would definitely go for the banding.
