It is not uncommon for a castrated cat to mount inanimate objects or other cats, regardless of their sex. Neutering reduces male behaviors but does not always eliminate them. This is true because the pathways in the brain related to gender-based behavior are formed before the animal is even born. The presence of testosterone prompts sexual behavior in males. But because of this "hard wiring" of the brain, the elimination of the hormone--after neutering, for instance--does not guarantee that these behaviors will be eliminated

No way.. cats don't know what sex is. neither do dogs. In fact, the only other mammal that has sex for fun is the dolphin (other than humans)
Cats "have sex" out of instinct-- if they aren't fixed, then that's just what they do.
He may be showing dominince, or he may just be playing. It has nothing to do with hormones or anything- even ask your vet.

well you are right. didnt you know how to have sex the first time you did. But it might be a dominance issue as well. That is mostly the case. I would get a spray bottle and correct him with that if the regular water dosnt work use a little bit like 2tbsp of vinger in the water. Careful not to get it in the eyes. But it should stop him from humping her.

i don't know about cat behavior. but, dogs present this behavior often. it is associated (in dogs) most often with play and sometimes to show a display of dominance. this can even happen in dogs of the same sex. it may be the same for cats. because neutered and spayed animals don't often display sexual behavior for sexual reasons.
