When someone asks advice on how to repair or asks for an informed guess as to what may be wrong with their TV and I go to the trouble of giving carefull thought and a detailed answer based on my 45 years experience in the TV field how can a voter pick as best answer a completely moronic answer from a dedicated dick head ? an answer often as helpful as " its bust " or " sounds like your tube is bad ' . Of course it doen`t happen every time because I have now clocked up 77 best answers. It is annoying though , I do think twice now though before replying to questions .. Cheers Pete

I know what you mean i have seen many of your answers in here. you are one of the few people who know what they are talking about. I figured the whole point of this was for people who knew what they were talking about on a given subject to give a decent, well informed answer. Instead on alot of these TV questions or consumer eletronics in general you get what I call "point pickers" people who just give a stupid answer like "get a new TV" or "its broken" or better yet "I dont know" just to get some stupid points. if you look up some of my answers you will see I gett pretty ticked about people giving false or un informed info on somthing. Fortunately you can tell who knows and who doesnt. and you are one who does. Good luck to you pal, there arent many of us left.

I am the same way with any answers I give. I have just started looking at Yahoo answers. (I currently have a TV question open) But I normally AVOID such give and take Q&A sites because most avid internet users and 'advice givers' are 14 - 16 years old, so most 'answers' are ommensurate with the age of the giver. I have extensive knowledge in computers and electronics in general, and find that many times when I give a detailed answer to someones question it wind up in an argument about semantics from a 14 year old.
