When I see these protestors against the Iraq war I wonder if they really know what's going on? With the war on terror we've liberated 50 million people in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Iraqi people have had three free elections, they have done in their country in nine months what it took our country seven years to do during its'founding and that is to have a constituition written by duly elected representatives and voted on by the people and formed a democratically elected government.

I don't think anyone really knows what is going on in Iraq. The big news channels only seem to cover the bombs, kidnappings and strife between the Shia and Sunnis. Our local National Guard unit did a one year tour over there (107th Engineers) and they came back with good stories about rebuilding schools, health clinics and such. They told us that the average Iraqi wants us to stay until security is established and they appreciate being liberated from Sadam and his two evil sons. The Iraqis do wish the Americans had better religious ettiquette when it comes to Muslim traditions and practices.

I think that people tend to forgoet that we as Amercicans never fought any war alone. During our own civil war the French help us a great deal. No country can liberate itself. Anti-War protesters have every right to say that they don't support us being in Iraq. My husband has been deployed to Iraq more times than I can count and has been home for about 1 1/2 years in the past 2 1/2 years. I am proud everytime he steps out the door and boards that airplane to Iraq. He is helping to rebuild a country and protects it's people. He is helping to rid the country of those who wish to harm it's innocent citizens. Most military member are proud of thier duty and often volunteer to go on these deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Perhaps if those protesters spend more time speaking to the actually military members that are going out there and less time complaining, they might understand that what we are doing is a GOOD thing for us all.

Most people only know what they hear on t.v. or radio. That is the extent of their intelligence. they have no desire to seek out the facts on their own. They listen to movie stars, and take what they say as fact, when in reality, it is only opinion. Americans, mostly are lazy and will take what is given to them. If they don't have to work for it, even better. I think that no matter what the cost, we need to help as many people as we can to enjoy living life in a democracy, with freedoms. If we don't, then all of the work and sacrifice of our forefathers is wasted. Liberals are concerned with the deaths, which noone likes, but they don't see the big picture, giving people freedom. If we don't do this, then millions of people will continue to live under tyranny, have religion forced upon them and millions of women will continue to be treated like animals. How can liberals feel that the things we enjoy here, should not be enjoyed by all peoples of the planet? Their logic just doesn't make sense to me. I understand that you call these people protesters, but I call them liberals. Isn't the word liberal derived from word the liberty? Meaning that they stand for freedom from slavery, oppression, being progressive and standing for reform? Thay are protesting exactly what they supposedly stand for.

In Afghanistan, the Taliban is stronger than ever and opium production is at record levels, providing funding for terrorists worldwide. The Afghan people hate us and blame us for the corrupt and ineffectual government we installed there.

Most Iraqis think that it is OK to attack and kill American soldiers. They also feel that life was better under Saddam and that the sooner the US leaves, the better. As for your analogy, the Iraqis would see us as the British.

Afghanistan and Iraq are both complete disasters and total loses, and we are losing the war on terror. The question is: why do you support the destruction of America?

Liberated the Iraqis from terrorism? Their life is a whole WHOLE lot worse now than it was before the war. And Iraq had nothing to do with Al Qeada.

Without a doubt, Hussein was a horrible man and killed probably hundreds of thousands of his countrymen. But that's not why we went.

Since I try extremely hard not to associate with these people, I can't speak for what they know is going on in Iraq - but I can tell you what they don't know.
And that's the consequences of a cut and run policy - thus allowing the Islamic terrorists any kind of victory based on their tactics of murdering thousands of innocent men, women and children in the name of their demented ideology.

Do you ever wonder what their response to the events of 9/11 would have been - perhaps diplomacy or negotiations? Unfortunately, the terrorists understand the sword - but not the pen.
These people, with all due respect for their admirable cause, just don't get it.

Many don't some there have been times where soldiers are getting shot at and their liberal commander says they can't shot because of civilians. That's great let the soldiers get shot up. And many liberals cheer about that. Total BS. I'm fully for the war in Afghanistan, but not in Iraq. But I would never cheerish something like that.

Protesters are people who need attention. All they are into is stirring up controversy. Thats all. I was FOR the war for a long time. I just think now, that we've done all we can do...but what do I REALLY know. You can't belive a word the media spits out. So, nobody really knows what is going on over there unless you are there. I love these people who have all these oppinions about something that they will NEVER in their life understand. My husband is a soldier he sacrifices for all these "cindy sheehans" who think they know whats best for our country. Well, if they knew so damn much then why aren't any of those "F%$#*%S running for government!?! I believe in our troops and I believe in their work...I just think now its getting to the point where we need to cut the apron strings and let the people of that country duke it out themselves. I love our men and woman and I can't bear to see anymore deaths! Especially when they are dying for a country that HATES US!

First of all, you are a very smart man. So, cheers to that! And, no protestors don't have any idea, becuase they are lame, flaming liberal morons! We have protestors where I live all the time. My husband is in Iraq right now, and I sure wish that those protestors could get a taste of what he is going through right now.

The protesters here that defile this country with their Liberal blather are beneath contempt. They do want to know all the good that is being done, it will ruin their 'dissent'.
For certain groups and people whose mouths have gotten too big that it is no longer dissent it is treason they should be tried under the Sedition ACT!!! Cindy Sheehan would be in the top 10, so would Kerry....
They never want to hear the successes because they had nothing to do with them!
