There is such a thing as hysterical blindness but it is very rare. You need to talk to a therapist.

Your symptoms appear to be classic signs of Panic Attacks. The one thing I have to ask is, does your heart start racing to such an extent that you feel you are going to die? There are quite a number of people who suffer from anxiety, or panic, attacks, and there are really no specific trearment for them. What maybe of help to you is if you feel one coming on, start slow deep breathing exercises, try to take your mind off it by reading or watching a comedy programme, also do go to your doctor as he/she maybe able to help by advising a self help therapy group that gives you advice on what happens with an anxiety attack, and various methods of dealing with them. Also, try not to use caffeine products, and avoid, if possible, stressfull situations. The doctor may also advise you to take a non-drowsy form of medication to help with the attacks. I wish you good luck and hope this has helped in some way.

As a Nursing student, I know that there is no possible way. Anxiety is a complex combination of emotions that includes fear, apprehension and worry, and is often accompanied by physical sensations such as palpitations, nausea, chest pain and/or shortness of breath. Panic is the primal urge to run and hide in the face of imminent disaster. It is a sudden fear which dominates or replaces thinking and often affects groups of people or animals. Panics typically occur in disaster situations, or violent situation. I hope this kind of helps.

Having a personality and mood disorder myself, I've read quite a bit into literature regarding the symptoms and effects of them. But, I've never came across anything saying that you could make you become blind.

That would of course depend on the source of the anxiety and panic. Consult your medical practitioner.
