if your hair is very oily then try washing it every night and see if it helps..if not then switch your shampoo and try using a lighter conditioner with less oils.

In my own experience, if I use the same brand of shampoo conditioner for too long, I will start building up residue. Switching brands every time you need a new bottle is a good idea. Also, it may be that you're conditioning too much or not rinsing properly? A stylist told me one time, that if you don't wash every day, you should still at least get the hair good and wet, massage the scalp and condition lightly. If that still doesn't work, try using an Infusium type product on your wet hair. It's a leave in product. As for washing every day, it's ok to do so. Super short hair can generally get away with washing every other day, but longer hair will contain the oils you have naturally. And at your age, you're right in the middle of puberty, so your body produces more oils now than it will later in life. If you're concerned about your shampoo drying out your hair and making it brittle, I wouldn't worry. Make sure you get shampoos that do not contain alcohol.

Anything could have caused your scalp to produce more oil than usual. Changes in diets, hormones, or just lifestyle can do it. Sometimes you can find shampoos specially made for oily hair but I don't put a lot of stock into them. I WOULDN'T recommend washing your hair every day because your scalp just produces more oil for what it's losing so your hair gets worse and worse (believe me, I know). Every other day should be better for you now. It's easier on your hair and it doesn't take up as much time as doing it everyday.

I wash my hair every day, sometime (like in the summer when i'm at the beach a lot) more often. I think i'd die if i only washed it once every three days. I think it'd feel and be WAY too oily. Yuck yuck yuck.
Washing your hair every day makes for more attractive hair, and sweeter smelling hair (and body!), and if you use a mild shampoo then it doesn't strip the oils out of your hair at all.
As for you, maybe your body chemistry is changing. It'd show up in your hair, for sure. You should pay attention to that. Your body (and hair) will need different care at different times in your life.

I'm not going to say that this is not normal, but it is not a good idea. Your hair does need some oil to remain healthy and to not dry out. Washing your hair everyday is stripping it of much needed nutrients. You should try going to a professional regularly for a deep conditioner, this keeps moisture in and bad oils out. On the other hand, you could shelf-shop for what you think would be best for your hair. Seeing that you have tried that I think consulting a professional would be best.

This usually happens to people with very fine hair. Try using a volumizing shampoo, I think pantene pro-v does a very excellent job of that. If you don't have time to wash your hair, simply take a quarter size of baby powder and rub it into the roots of your hair, this mops up some of the grease and makes your hair appear fuller. Or, go to the stylist and have them texturize your hair, this usually costs about 40-70 dollars and it lasts for 6 months. What they do is make your hair thicker and the grease in your scalp won't weigh down your hair.

Is your hair long? Mine is, and I try to only wash it every other day. It's so hard on it to comb out the tangles and blow it dry every day, plus I feel like I lose a lot of hair when I do that. I think that probably the increased oiliness is being caused by hormonal changes. Try washing every other day......

well, you actually shouldnt condition your hair everyday, it will get oily, and if you wash and condition it every 3 days, it will get oily. you can do 1 of two things. wash every day, with light shampoos that have no buildup, and and condition every 2 or 3 days or, #2, wash hair every other day, (still take a shower every day, just wear shower cap) and condition every 3 days.
look for a conditioner with less chemicals, youll get less oily buildup. also, look for conditioners that are specifically for oily-type hair. v05 is light with both their conditioners and shampoos, and pretty good quality. I found that pantene pro-v makes my hair oily no matter what kind of pantene it is. look for stuff also that is not animal tested or enviromentally safe.. they usually have less chemicals, and do less damage to your hair, like shampoo made from hemp. its all natrual and good for your hair follicles. good luck!

Try a clarifying shampoo everytime you wash to get rid of the buildup that occurs during the week. Also, don't stick to just one shampoo and conditioner. Try to alternate between 2 or 3 so that your hair won't get used to just one and buildup won't occur as fast. You should also check the label to see if it says "for oily hair" and get that it.

I used to be able to go a long time without washing my hair too but now that I'm older I have to wash my hair every night. Most people I know wash their hair every day. It's totally normal. It just means that you've matured more.
