Orthopedics is surgery. It's a surgical subspeciality. There is no orthopedist who doesn't do surgery.

If youre interested in working with kids without doing surgery, consider pediatrics.

Orthopedists deal with bones. Not sure how to get at bones without some surgery involved..... Well, on second thought, when a broken bone is set, it's done without surgery mostly......

Orthopedics IS surgery. If you don't LOVE surgery, then you shouldn't even remotely consider orthopedics. Try pediatrics. Or go be a chiropractor (which isn't a doctor at all, despite what they call themselves)

It doesn't earn near as much but orthopedic techs do a lot of the castings, measurings, etc.
