Actually Starr is wrong, you have to buy all of your fruits, veges, and dairy to supplement the Nutrisystem program which is another 100-150 bucks/month because you have to eat it every single day, but the reason it's expensive is easy...it works.

I tired it and did not like half the foods. I have also tried Jenny Craig (also expensive) and lost 8 pounds in two wks, but got burnt out on the food. If you want to eat boxed meals, try going to your local grocery store first, try a few, then decide if you want to make the investment. And, yes, with Nutrisystem you do buy extra food, with JCraig you don't but as much extra food.

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout to use as well.

for the cost they provide you totally balanced meals for each day, you dont need nor should you have any other food in the house. thats how you lose, eating their limited meals. thats why its expensive but its not much more than eating at mc donalds once or twice a day. and its decent food, similar program is read the atkins diet, or south beach diet and buy their frozen foods at the grocery store. or go on a very carb restricted diet.

I agree that it is very expensive. I made up my own program. I eat a meal replacement bar for breaky and lunch. Then for supper I have a large salad or a frozen low cal dinner. I also drink a pot of green tea daily. I am feeling wonderful and losing a lot of weight. Good luck..

its a total waste because its just junk and then you have to add so much to it like fruit and salad and protein, just get a book of low glycemic foods and pick you foods with the lowest glycemic index and load. It will work and will not be as expensive.
