My wife has just given birth to an 8 lb baby boy and she has been crying since she has left the hospital. She is worried that her vagina is going to be huge and not go back to the original size. What can I tell her.

Normally, it will shrink back to the same size, but some women to just a little bigger that what it was before, but nowadays they do vaginaplasties, she can get one once she has decided not to have any more. This will totally turn it back to however she wants it...any excess skin can also be removed and lips made semetrical if she prefers...its all the rage now days and there isn't much down time...

Your vagina is a muscle and will heal just like any other muscle in your body after being stretched. Her vagina won't be huge, it probably won't be much different at all. If she wants to be sure that it's not, she can do Kegel exercises. They are a work out for your vagina and keep it firm (just like other muscles). She can look up how to do them and how often. In the mean time tell her NOT to worry, she'll be no different afterwards! I have had three kids and my husband isn't complaining!!!!

The vagina is like a rubber band and will go back to its original size. Believe me I know my partner and I have two kids.

It will go back to normal after 6 weeks or so. Tell her to start doing her kegels to strengthen the muscles now.

it'll go back to some what the same size with out kegel excersice.but if she starts to do kegels right now she'll gett her size faster and maybe even a little tighter

It goes back to normal size. Trust me, next time she has a baby, she'll know it went back to the original size!!

Forgive me for this comment, but your wife just brought a life into the world and she is crying because she is worried about her vagina. you need to take her to see a mental health professional asap. i have never heard such nonsense out of a women. Are you sure this is not your worry. Anyway, the vagina is a muscle and it will contract and go back into shape in approximately 6 weeks, you are supposed to refrain from any sexual intercourse until after she sees the doctor, very important. Good luck. Perhaps you should call her physician and address these issues. God bless

It will contract back to its original size. Give it some time. You are supposed to wait 6 weeks to have intercourse again, and by then it should be fixed.

It will take some time, but it will shrink back. She can do kegal exercises to help. I have three kids, and all of my babies were big. My first born was 11lbs 7 oz, and he was born vaganially!! SERIOUSLY! The second was born 16 months later. We still have great sex!
