just bought a used car and it started to smell 2 days later and we can't get the smell out

Febreeze and vacuum out your car. Some vacuums even have a hose that gives a fragrance. If that doesn't work, steam clean it at home or at a professional carwash/detail. Good Luck!

dog trainer 30 plus years - Love what works for me is renting a rug doctor and shampoo it. If you cannot afford this, you can take fabric softener sheets. Use a spray bottle and lightly spray then wipe it down with the softener sheet. Also you can leave a renuzit in the car overnight. It will smell strong the next day when you first get in but should help out. To get the hairs out use the pet rollers or just put some tape around your hand, sticky side out and roll it where needed. Take a carpet and rug cleaner to the carpet and upholstrey.
Vaccum it up.
Spray Fabreze on every surface.
We live 3 blocks from the beach on Lake Michigan - and I have two canine beach bums with a combined weight of 170+. We are there ALL the time.

use the febreeze for fabrics, dont use the air cleaner unless you like lots of perfumy scent, i'm sensitive to smells so i like the kind you put on the fabric, it kills bacteria that makes up the odors. good stuff actually.

dont know how to get rid of it, but to prevent it just tie your dog up to the back of the car as you drive instead next time.
