Jesus is recorded as saying in Matthew 16:28: "...there shall be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." In Matthew 24:34, Jesus is recorded as saying: "...This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." Since the life expectancy in those days was little over 30 years, Jesus appears to have predicted his second coming would be sometime during the 1st century. So... what happened?

simply friend many theories explain this, but the most prevealent is the thological explanation that one must NEVER REBUKE CHRIST, and realize H ecould come back at any trime whatsoever, and yes the literal sense as we know it is hard to understand, but i believe He was saying in essence the generation, is The Church, and The Time of The Gentiles

and No one knows the hour of His Coming, not even the Son but only the Father in Heaven

It sounds as if He is speaking of the generation living when the last thing he said needed to be accomplished is finished. I believe Israel becoming a country was one thing, the temple has to be rebuilt, along with other acts.

Didn't you see last week's episode of Dr Who?

Also, you take the conversation out of context. 'This generation' referred to the one that sees the olive tree (Israel) blossom. That didn't even start until the 1940's, and arguably, the 1960's. I don't know about YOU, but I am still breathing...
