It is obvious. Unfortunately the majority of people have their eyes shut to the truth.

No offense, but this question is completely naive, and that is why only 33% of the world is Christian. Think about it, our society craves proof. Is there any PROOF, solid proof, that Jesus is anything but a guy that lived a long time ago? NO. It's all about faith. People don't believe that Jesus was the messiah because they have no proof of this other than people sticking this phrase in their faces over and over: "Jesus is everything!" I mean really, if someone comes up to you, holds a dollar in your face and says, "This is a hamburger!" are you going to believe it without them giving you at least a good sales pitch?
No. You have a good question, but to convert non-believers such as myself, especially the valuable intellectuals, you have to give them a really good sales pitch. And not an argument, a logical reason to believe in Jesus. Everyone Christian who reads this, read and heed this advice! As a non-Jesus guy, I'm telling you that this is the best way to convert people. If someone gave me an actual good reason to believe it, and not just because it makes me happy inside for a little while, then I'll do it. But so far all I've ever gotten are bible quotes, showing that most people invariably don't understand what they are quoting to me.

You're directing a spiritual question, to a carnal mind. I think it's unfair of you to assume everyone is knowledgeable of the ways and concepts of God/Jesus. "Unless a man/woman be born again, he/she will not enter the kingdom of God!" There was a time that YOU nor ME knew that Christ was the Messiah. Consider yourself fortunate to have the understanding of who God is. Anything more than that causes contention and strife. Something the Messiah would never condone! I think sometimes in our zeal to represent Christ WE/ME do more damage than good. If you don't believe this to be true, read some of these answers to your question and see the war it started!
I hope you receive my answer in the spirit in which it was written. I believe your question is sincere and was not intentionally meant to cause harm, or be offensive to anyone. God Bless You!

The subject of isaiah 53 (and who said its about the messiah anyways?) is promised long life and seed -- neither of which jesus had. it also used plural form (v.8). this chapter is clearly not about jesus.

Its sad but some people dont believe in Jesus. No matter how much proof they have they'll never get it. Accepting Jesus into your life is one of them things you didnt know you needed until after you got it. Pray that God will give you a burden for lost souls and that people can see His love shining through us believers

I can't! So much of the Bible can be backed up with science; and the Bible tells us many times Jesus is the Messiah.

Because Jesus failed to fulfill the prophecies and the rules:
Substitutionary sacrifice -- against the torah
Sacrifice outside the temple -- against the torah
Claimed to be God himself -- against the torah
Returned from the dead -- against the torah
Claimed he would return -- against the torah
Failed to bring universal peace and understanding of god -- against the torah.
In short, he screwed up.
Sorry, if you accept the truth of Judism as the source of the prophecies, then Christianity makes no sense. And if you don't accept Judism to begin with, then Christianity still makes no sense.
*IF* YHVH is the one true god, then Jesus was not divine, he was of the Adversary.

Because the idea of a scape-goat seems very suspicious to me, like those pop-ups that say "Click here for a free X-Box!" It would be nice, but I don't think it would work that way...
