If you were ever a science student they would have taught you that as compared to other species out brains proportionally are much bigger. This provides for all the skills we have developed over the ages. We have established such a social system it has entrapped up. It is an unending cycle now. Think about it, how did the question you just asked popped into your head? Do you think it would occur in an animals brain? No doubt animals can think and communicate, but they surely lack the skill of critical thinking. The cognitive abilities of animals are very primitive otherwise they would be destroying the world, as we humans are doing. I just wish they were intelligent than us, we would have had a good life being feed, bathed and cleaned by them. Holy, think of it, they would be walking with plastic bag in their paws and cleaning up our mess behind us. Free haircut, no need to wear clothes, unpretentious sex right in the middle of the street ;). Not being controlled by our libido, such a relief. I can think of so many advantages. Wishful thinking, i wish it was possible....

Yes, some animals think and communicate but no, it is not possible they are more intelligent because if it was possible, they would be asking your question, not you.

I know some animals that show a lot more compassion than many people I've encountered, not to mention a whole lot more loyalty. I know my cat understands me when I say a couple of things and when she does certain actions I know what she wants....although I'm not sure if you're asking if they communicate with US or with each OTHER. I believe some animals are quite intelligent...others are there just to be loved as pets despite there lack of smarts....LOL. (Others still are there to be consumed for food) I must admit I enjoy my chicken!

I think that if we are sensative and intuitive - we can understand where our pet is coming from and maybe have an idea of how she/he feels. I think they do think to some extent - and they do communicate with us - but humans are very intelligent and I don't think animals have us beat in that department. They have a maturity about them that is built into their parenting instinct. Humans have to develop maturity - whereas animals seem to have it instictively.

Animals communicate, but I don't think they don't have the complex reasoning mind like humans have. In many ways they are more intelligent than humans, because the 5 senses they do have are a bit more elivated than our own, and then there's the sixth sense I believe that is in full circle with animals. Why? Because they do not have an ego like we do that plays a big role on ruling our minds. Because they lack ego, I think they might be more ballenced with their senses than we are with ours. That's my opinion. Good question. I ponder that one from time to time myself.

I think many animals think and communicate but not on the same level as humans. Humans are made a little lower than the angels. Animals are made lesser than humans.

They don't have full frontal lobes so they can't reason and think like humans can. But I do believe that some animals are capable of emotions, specifically cats, dogs, and horses or companion animals. Cats don't jump in your lap and let you love them and purr for you b/c you tell them to, they do it whenever they feel like it. I believe my cats genuinely love me. And sometimes I wonder if they communicate with each other and plot things...
