My uncle is moving out of my house in about three months, and I get the basement which includes: bathroom, big closet with two shelves and two racks, a storage room, sliding glass door(its to the backyard), and the stairway, of course. The door comes from the kitchen, and I was thinking about decorating the front of it.. with signs that say "Risa's Room" or something like that... I am thirteen, so I want it to be sort of bright colors. And I am going to paint the walls, add curtains, decorate the bathroom, ect. Any ideas on storage or bedding, too? I was thinking about afuton that would fold up and stuff.. so it would be kind of like a mini apartment. And I'm getting a new tv. I need it to be pretty cheap, too.. but good looking. I'm also going to get a phone for it, too. Thanks!!

wow this sounds like fun. Use your favorite colors. Go to any paint store or Walmart to see samples of color combinations. If you get a futon try lying on it first because my college kids say they are uncomfortable. A daybed might be good. How about a porch swing hanging in your room with colorful pillows? Better yet a hanging bed, I've seen them lately in magazines. A "bed in a bag" gives you all the needed linens for a bed, and you can find them cheaper at KMart, Walmart or Fred's. Since the room is large use large accent pieces and decor. Don't use too many colors, just 3 or 4 so it doesn't look too busy.

Since it's in a basement don't paint the walls dark colors or it will look like a cave. If you get a matching bedspread and curtains remember that the bedspread will wear out long before the curtains. Look around online for things you like before you go shopping. I like Target.com because they have a lot of home decor and it's mostly inexpensive. And most of all have fun!!!

ikea has waiting made wardrobes which may well be put in the room, you could probable get a queen or king length mattress, dresser, armoire and purchase a small settee set to put in the corner. I dont understand what the aspects is like the place you reside yet there are electric powered fireplaces that are completely outfitted to look as though genuine ones you could positioned that on a wall someplace. whilst getting paintings get great ones, no longer a team of small ones the placement will look clutters. in view that its a great area you could particularly lots use any colour paint on the partitions, purchase various music lights or lamps if the room is in simple terms too dark.

I'm a minimalist. Less is more. Try a bench with storage inside. You can put cushions on it and use it as a couch. I like yellow and purple. Very contrasting and bright. Get a daybed or something too. Sounds great!

Since it's just a bedroom I suggest searching for stuff to decorate dorm rooms with. Try doing a google search for IKEA. It's a furniture store with all sorts of stuff and I know they have stuff for dorm rooms. It would be the perfect stuff for a bedroom. Good luck and have fun!

New furniture is certainly attractive, not to mention pricey, if you were to search secondhand market and antique stores, you would probably come across some surprising pieces of furniture that add a touch of distinction to our home.
