This question has many answers, depending on your water source, personal needs and a myriad of other factors.

Generally speaking, ground water in this country, and throughout the world is becoming more polluted with the growth of populations, animal feed lots, shrinking aquifers, irrigation usage and pesticide runoff from farms to mention only a few factors.

As a rule, in a populated area, your best bet is at least a reverse osmosis system and these are readily at Sears, Lowes, Home Depot and similar sources. Then change the filters at the recommended intervals and have your water tested at least once a year by a state lab. Hope this helps.

tap always, if you're leery use a brita filter. bottled water is a scam, those gallon jug refil machines are ran off the same tap water as the building they're in. and the small bottles are the same. they're making close to 100% profit on bottled water. evian backwards equals naive!

I find that tap water here is probably really sick to drink because of all the chemicals that help clean it, except it is still ingestable and its not like we're going to die if we drink tap water but I'd rather drink bottled water. OR purified water out of a filter.

No it is not it tastes like lead from a pencil I want to get a filter that runs through al lthe pipes in my house so I wash myself with purified water it is better for your skin as well b/c the minerals in unpurified water can absorb through your sklin!

Yes, it is here in America. I usually drink tap water because bottled is way to expensive.

I don't think so. It contains all sorts of harmful chemicals like Chlorine and Fluoride, and others. I filter my water to remove those things. you can buy bottled water, but that is expensive, and there is no real guarantee on the quality.
