my first bible, and maybe some other books. When i was nine i think i got a cabbage doll, and the true meaning of Christmas when found the receipt for the doll. (i never looked at Christmas the same way) Now i know and celebrate being with family just in front of the fire place sharing memories. To this day I never told my mom about the receipt, I realized since she was a single parent and had to pay rent and buy food, that she made a sacrifice for me and my Lil sister...wow I'm getting teary eye, knowing how much my mommy loves me to forsake all others for her babies. We prob. could have been evicted cause at that time the dolls had to be 90 bucks (that's a lot with 700bucks in rent and three kids) and she still chose us first no matter the consequence. I love you Ma and Merry Christmas.
I'm sorry to get off subject. but share with her the joy of what the spirit of love and family brings along with what ever you decide to get her. Good Luck and God Bless.

Since I had a nine year old girl once and will have again. Some good gifts were art type of gifts such as bead kits, macrame kits, pot holder kids, clothes, diskman with headphones, crazy socks, purses for younger girls, cute movies that everyone can watch, Willy wonka and the chocolate factory(classic), Wizard of Oz. Lipgloss, things to put in her hair(ribbons, clips), spongy curlers, board games, diary.....I could go on but that should be enough.

I went to a pastime save and offered a number of that stretchable line (seems kinda like fishing line) and a sort of cute by way of much less high priced beads. I made her a great determination of bracelets, and ankle bracelets in diverse colours. She enjoyed the present, via fact they placed on bracelets lots, and it gave her colours and types for terribly almost each colour. She gained quite some toys and JUNK. Her mom called me later to allow me know she extremely enjoyed my present very almost maximum of all; seems even that age had an appreciation for the belief and personalization that I MADE that present basically for HER. And, I had a blast doing it!. (I possibly spent a fragment of what maximum of her different presents cost.) (Tip: Get the stretch string that's no longer too small, it threads and brakes too common. Then all you may desire to do is string the beads and be valuable to tie the knot extremely nicely. The knot will disappear into the beads. And, don't get pony beads - each seven year. old is conscious they're merely no longer IN for suitable accessorizing! --lol) . further bonus: a number of months later, she called ME and asked if i could help her make a number of them for her superb chum's birthday. So, I had the excitement of an afternoon together with her, that I generally does no longer have had! powerful) .

clothes, play make up, purses, cd's.
For my daughter's nineth, I got her a cell phone, but I guess if she's not your child you wouldn't want to do that.
If she has a cell phone and it's pay as you go, you could buy her some minutes.
I honestly don't know of any 9 yr olds that play with dolls these days.

Polly Pockets or other tiny dolls with lots of accessories. My nine year old loves them and they are not too expensive.

I would say some sort of Barbie or Bratz doll. You could get a game, a movie, or some sort of music. Girls also love those make it yourself jewelry kits too, they sell them almost everywhere.

Imagine what you wanted as a nine year old - DON'T buy that. Thats what you want to buy, but don't. TIMES CHANGE, NINE year olds change.
BEST THING: ask another nine year old what they would want, chances are thats what your nine year old would want.
