My boyfriend just cheated on me while he was away for one day. We've dated almost 8 times and it feels right being with him but I don't know what to do. Should I go back to him?

We tend to place our self-worth in the hands of others when we are in a relationship. Then, when that person strays or leaves, our belief in ourselves fades or disappears, depending on how much of ourselves we have given up for this person.
You should never forget who YOU are, with our without this man. Do not let this man dictate who you are and who you can be. He obviously does not hold you in the same regard as you hold him. Don't let him control you. Have more respect for yourself and more self-worth than that. Surround yourself with people who love you for YOU; your parents, your siblings, your best friends forever. These are the types of people you need to find yourself in again. Not some jerk who sees you as a rebound relationship when he needs someone to be with whenever he feels like it.
You are more important than that!!!!

Had the two of you discussed being in an exclusive and committed relationship. In other words you say he is/was your boyfriend, but were the two of you clear on having a mutual commitment to forsake all others and remain true to one another? If not, he still doesn't seem like a good choice for you in that he has not treated you in the manner or context you desire!

Just the fact that you're asking should be a warning sign that you know what's up. If you've only been out 8 times, just think how lucky you are to figure it out now and not later when you're more attatched.

in my opinion NO! you know the saying once a cheat always a cheat...I understand it may feel right when you are together but ask yourself this question when your not together do you want to make yourself sick wondering what he's doing or who he's with????? find someone that will be faithful to you

i dont know why people ask such stupid questions. the answer is right there and i know you know it. he isnt the one. because if he was, he wouldnt have cheated on you in the first place. so no, dont go back. you are worth more than that, you need to realize that and you deserve somebody better.

One question, Do you love him? if you don't, don't waste your time. Find someone who want to be with only you. Also there is a difference between Love and Lust. If he would cheat on you and he was only gone for one day, I wouldn't waist my time. Move on.

What dif does it make... IF he were serious about you he wouldn't need anyone else.
