My dog got her rabies shot and distemper shot about over a week ago. A couple days later she had several little knots on her left side where the vet gave the distemper shot in. They went away a couple days later. Now I have noticed that she has them on the right side, above her hip. She has a knot now that is on the left side that is about a size of a quarter. We have a coffee table and when she runs, she goes under it and hits her back. I was just wondering if the knot could of came from her hitting the coffee table or something else. I asked the breeder that I got her from about the little knots. She said she might be allergic to something or it was fleas. I have checked both her and my mom's dog for fleas and I only found 1 on my mom's dog. What should I do, wait a couple of days to see if the knots go down and if not, call the vet to make an appointment to get her checked out? Should I set off a flea bomb just in case there are fleas in the house?

She acts normal. She is playful and she is eating.

I have put Frontline on both my dog and my mom's dog, but I don't think it's working.

Hello
My name is Christie I am a Vet each at a local animal ER. What yo have described after shots is called a cysts and yes they will go away and when you get them on a tissue it takes longer. If you baby is running under tables being silly he/she could have just made the tissue alittle swollen. It is like you keep hitting your elbow over and over again well after awhile in the the same spot will get a knot of have the tissue restrict. All these people on here did a wonderful job in answering. yes you can bomb your house and tried your dogs with a bath and a flea treatment .Ask you vet the best on for yo babies. But if this gets any bigger and your dog starts to lost it feeling to eat or sleeps to much or even cry or walks funny take him/her in to the ER ASAP. But if you want there is a number of low cost vet across the USA i can help you with. but if in doubt take them out, out to the Vet.
take care
Christie

When ever your pet has a lump or bump that does not go away or get smaller within a couple days it is best to have it checked by a Vet no mater what you think has caused it.

I would call the Vet Monday a.m. It could be a reaction from the injections she received. No matter what it is he/she needs to look at it.

I would not set off a flea bomb unless you are SURE you have fleas. Don't you use Frontline or something for the fleas?

this sounds sorta serious to me. i'd check with a vet to make sure it isn't like worms or hip dislaysia or anything wrong on the inside. if the vet says to take any further actions, u prolly should set off the flea bomb.

Call the vet. Why do people try to second guess something they know nothing about? The vet should know what is going on. They can run test, etc. to find out the problem.

Have a nice day!

i would atleast call a vet if not make her an appointment. she'd probably have to hit her back pretty hard to get a knot and the other ones have got to be caused from something... take her in

Get the dogs Advantage or Frontline. Bombing would not take care of them on the dogs. If there is one flea...there are MANY more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And there ARE fleas in the house. If you treat with Advantage or Frontline, it will take care of the fleas in the house too.
