2 ways of looking at the 1st one:
a) You should have goals with values and morals in your goals so you can reach high and cherish your life's purpose.
OR
Your life of purpose should be centered around God because that is why god created you or your purpose for life. "What a wonderful purpose!"
Second One- Write from your heart and you will write with true meaning (That is self) and then your public will be the winner. You can't lose then. You have given your whole self.
3rd-Simply God has a plan. We might know where we are going but when you get there God's plan always works out for the most wonderful day of your life. Continue the journey!

The purpose of life is a life of purpose.
The reason for life is to have an ultimate goal towards which you are moving. It means that you are truely living only when you make your life worthwhile through the things you do.
Better to write for the self and have no public than to write for the public and have no self.
Writing is a mode of self expression which is very powerful, it gives life to thoughs and gets the real you out in the open through your ideas and ideals. Thus even if no one ever gets to read what you have written, the words which are down on paper are a treasure to the self, a gem created by your character. When you write for someone else just to please them, the real you does not come out and the people reading will only see a reflection of what THEY wanted to read. There is no life in a written work of this kind, no passion, just words on paper.
I may not have gone where I intended to go but I think I have ended up where I intended to be.
In life we all try to plan a route in life which will eventually lead us somewhere. However, very often, these plans are disrupted by events beyond our control and a new route is traced which we find ourselves following. Thus we end up somewhere which we did not plan to get to... and yet once we are there we feel that there is no other place we would rather be, or were ever meant to be.
Live. Love. Learn,
Live like there is no tomorrow... enthusiastically, passionately and in awe of all that which is presented to you daily for no day is like the other.
Love like you have never been hurt... give the most precious treasure wich costs nothing to anyone but adds to the emotional wealth of others and of yourself.
Learn something new everyday, for knowledge is infinite and brings new things which add value to your life in an exchange of views with others.
To truely live you must be willing to love and and learn. To truely love you must be willing to llive and learn. To truely learn you have to be willing to love and live.

the one by Robert Byrne talks about how everything in life is of purpose. He is telling us that what life is defined as is is sometjing worthy and with purpose to one and every single individual as well as to mean something to them.
the one by Cyril Conolly says that it is better to do things on your own terms even though there is no one to support of applaud the decisions you make as oppossed to making decisions based upon others but not what you and what your desires are. it says that one should go with their own intuition and do things that make them happy and for themselves even though they have little or back up rather than trying to please others which many people do and to be miserable.
the one by Douglas Adams says that all of us think that we know what we want out of life, but sometimes life throws us the wildest surprises and change our plans for the future. you may not have wanted to go this route but the original one but in the end you cannot always get what you want. and when you end up taking your dreams and making them into a reality then you know that you are in the right place.
the one that says "live, love, learn" means that these things are the most things in life that can shape a person. you need to live a nice life, to make mistakes and to learn from those mistakes and somewhere along the way to learn how to love since love is one of the most important things taht we as humans can aquire and give back.

My ideas:
1. It's always best to live a purpose driven life (heard of the book?). Life is simply nothing if its all intended for one's own ends. All of us have a specific reason why we exist. And that reason is your purpose. Doesnt have to be grand though. Know and understand thy self . Carry out thy purpose.
2. Its about integrity, good regard and trustworthiness. I would like to take the word "write" as actions and "self" as the inner quality of the person. "Public" can be people or persons we we engage ourselves with.
3. At the end of the day, the wishes of the heart ( fullfilment, contentment, satisfaction, personal happiness) is always the winner.

The third one, I think means live as much as possible, love if you can and learn what you can.
The first one- I think it means that you have to put a little bit of your self, or at least concentration into writing. If you don't like what you write, how do you expect others to like it?
As for the second one- the writer might've meant, he thought he'd eventually end up the last place that he was, before passing on. Not real sure, though.
