I am not a doctor but I am a medical assistant and have worked in the medical field for several years. It sounds to me as if you are having an anxiety attack which can produce symptoms that you are describing. My daughter recently has been experiencing similar symptoms along with heart arrythmia, dizziness, etc. I took her to a cardiologist and ran all kinds of tests and this is what was deduced. Since this always seems to happen in a public place, it sounds as if this is giving you anxiety for some reason and this is bringing on these symptoms. You may want to investigate this on the internet and then consult a doctor that may prescribe medication( i.e. Xanex) for when you feel one of these episodes starting. You may also want to consult a counselor and try to figure out what it is about eating in public places that is triggering this. Again, I am not a doctor but I hope this at least will point you in a good direction. Good luck!

It sounds like a panic attack---but you should never let chest pains go ignored. Contact your doctor or go to a clinic as soon as you can and get evaluated. It is best to err on the side of caution, and make sure that you are healthy. If it turns out that it is just anxiety, you can be advised as to what to do about that, too. Don't delay too long---because delaying treatment can only give the opportunity for things to worsen.

Could be panic attack, but would depend on age/health/and history. Shortness of breath and chest pain are of concern. Do you have sweating with it? Do you have nausea?.... How often has this happened?.... Left arm pain?..... Back pain?.... See a doctor...... get some lab work done to rule out other things.... other than panic attack....

1. You ate too much. Your stomach expands into your lungs, thus the shortness of breath.

2. Not sure about the chest pain but it could be heartburn.

See a DR if it gets worse.

I have the exact same thing...and it's ONLY when I'm eating in a restaurant...weird I know...some sort of social anxiety. I took Ativan for a while, but I didn't want to be a pill popper so I just deal with it now. This is just me...maybe you should talk to a doc.
