I've been with my bf for 4 months, and I've known him for about 4 yrs. But he always says he loves me but i never see it. never. And not to sound mean but in a nutshell, he's a scrub. My father doesn't like him and he has a daughter. Plus our relationship was long distance and i feel like it didn't make any sense. But i still have feelings for him, strong feelings. I broke up with him but i'm not sure if i did the right thing.

You did the right thing. No matter how many good things you remember (if any) no matter how strong your feeling are, in a nutshell, you mentioned just about every red flag (bad thing) about a boyfriend that there is to name. Things don't usually get better. They only get worse. You're a worthy person and you deserve to be loved the way that makes you feel good and happy and feel blessed to have that other person in your life. Be strong and those feelings that are causing you to second guess your decision will slowly go away. There's better out there for you. YOU GO GIRL! If you care about him, remain distant friends but don't let him sweet talk or guilt you into taking him back. It sounds to me like you're the one that has so much to offer. Scrubs like that only serve to take you down to their level and then when a really cool guy comes a long who will love you like you want, who will treat you like a Princess, the scrub has you occupied with whatever drama of the week and you miss the opportunity for TRUE love. Take care of you. You only get one life. Live it an be happy. Your relationship with the scrub did not make you happy. Trust your gut and stick to your decision.

Run, girl!! Don't look back, you did the right thing! You can love a person and not be a good fit (together). Marriage/serious relationships really take an effort the longer time goes on. Little annoyances or idiosyncrasies in the beginning become Huge later on. If he doesn't show you love now, he certainly won't do it later! Some step children can be very challenging to say the least,(imagine how shaken their world has become)and that isn't adding in the element of a psychotic ex-wife or girlfriend. Now...with all that in mind.....are you still doubting yourself?! Go on with your life,enjoy it and you will find someone much more suited to You, just when you least expect it!

He has a daughter, is he active in her life...or is he a total deadbeat? Why doesn't your father like him? Many times people outside the relationship see things that we don't. Did you tell him it bothered him he didn't show his love? Some people have atough time showing their feelings...and some are just scrubs, as you say :)
Did you do the right thing? I don't know, it all depends on how you feel in your heart. I don't think anyone can tell you that but you.

Been there, you did the right thing. First talk is cheap, if he loves you he'd show you. Even if that means calling you everyday, that's a BIG thing guys. The other thing is long distance never really works for long. My ex and I talked everyday (see above!), and finaly it was the distance that killed it for us.

Yes, breaking up is hard a i know it I've hat about 13 bfs since the 1 grade and when you break up with him its hard i just broke up with mine about 3 days ago and every night i cry cuz i miss him. Otherwise yes he has a daughter i would SO brake up.
