No proof, Read the bible and see the specific events that occured. You will find that their are no error. Second read the bible again. And see that This is a god who says certain things and they occure/ Come true. Are you asking, why cant we see God, or in a sense feel God. I can personally guarrantee God exist. I pray all the time and get answers back for God. So their is a God, you just have to open your heart and accept him. Their is a whole in your heart that only God can fill, this is why their are so many people who dont know and wonder about God. Seek him and he will show you.

Arguments for and against the existence of God have been proposed by philosophers, theologians, and other thinkers. In philosophical terminology, existence of God arguments concern schools of thought on the epistemology of the ontology of God.
The debate concerning the existence of God raises many philosophical issues. A basic problem is that there is no universally accepted definition of God. Some definitions of God's existence are so nonspecific that it is certain that something exists that meets the definition; while other definitions are apparently self-contradictory. Arguments for the existence of God typically include metaphysical, empirical, inductive, and subjective types. Arguments against the existence of God typically include empirical, deductive, and inductive types. Viewpoints represented include God does not exist, God exists, or the issue is unknowable..............

#1 People say "Prove he DOESN"T exist." You can not prove a negative. "Prove there is not a giant, invisible flying spaghetti monster that created the universe and everyhthing in it." Or "Prove Zeus is not the god of gods." Can't be done.
#2 Our existance more easily and completly explained by evolution. If we were created, why do we have an appendix? (and don't give me that micro- vs. macro evoultuon crap. Macroevolution IS micoevolution on the long term).
#3 Religion is inextricably tied to politics. It is the "opiate of the masses," or, in current times, the fear of the masses that allows politians to control people.

yay i just asked the same question.
It amounts to this, you hear Bible stories, you get info from your parents or maybe school if you go to a religious school, and you have a choice to either believe it on faith alone, or reject it. Some people have spiritual experiences where you feel an overwhleming prescence of some divine spirit, but I think it's mostly the first thing I said.

God has revealed himself to believers and is hidden from unbelievers. Once you are ready to start following God, he will reveal himself to you.
There is also scientific evidence that indicates we have a creator.

It only comes down to what YOU believe or don't. Life gets much easier when you start with yourself. We're all basically alone in the universe....
